I was trying to resist tasting before I took the picture, but the hunger got the best of me. Walked in after work around 6, to my surprise, there was no wait. Place looks a bit dated, but if the rest of the food is as good as the beef patty…. who cares. I ordered a small curry chicken & small jerk with rice and peas. There is a 5% up charge applied to all non-cash purchases. Wait time was about 10mins. Spicy but very flavorful. Not the best, but not the worst.
Updating my review to include this… customer service is horrible. Expect the person taking your order not to greet you AND to be on the phone. Also parking over here is horrible. It’s hard to get a space. Chicken soup is really good, but is only serviced mon and wed. There is an additional fee for using a debit or credit card. I’m sorry, but a fee for accepting a debit card is ridiculous… it’s literally same as cash. I sat at a broken table ans almost wasted my small $6 chicken soup. For 2 small soups and one jerk patty it was $17. Count your days Sunshine.

So I believe the only thing that is fresh on this plate is probably the goat meat. Honest I don’t believe that is either. The rice is very mushy as if it was warmed up from last night the cabbage is not done at all like they cut it up put it on just to add warmth there just for like literally a minute and then idk. Presentation portion and smell is great but the preparation is awful. In addition they took forever to bring out our To go plates. Never ever will I eat here.

Food is of good portion and cheap price. The pork jerky is very tasty and a little spicy. The fried chicken is different from American fried chicken, and is also tasty. The girl at the ordering counter is not good at explaining things at all. Not impressed with her. Even dining in dishes come in to-go boxes, which is strange, and shows this place is not remotely interested in creating a good dining experience. But food quality and portion deserve 5 stars.

I always enjoy my food here. I get the oxtails and my husband gets curry chicken and goat. I live too far to come weekly but I try to make my way here whenever I’m in the area. I recommend this spot bc I haven’t been to a restaurant that is better. Peridot Pooh

The amount of food you get varies on the day. There’s no consistency sadly but they have the best oxtails I’ve found so far. I paid $19 for 4 pieces of oxtails The phone that work there funny care and they ran out of cabbage as well.

When I lived nearby, Sunshine became my go-to Jamaican destination… I sampled & enjoyed everything they cooked!
Now that I’m miles away, I stop in infrequently… and tend to order the large jerk chicken.
It’s delicious… 5 star delicious.
The best part is….after having my fill as soon as the food is delivered, I then have wonderful jerk chicken to enjoy at home.

On the lunch special they only give you 2 pieces of chicken.Food is way too spicy. I couldn’t enjoy it. Golden Crust gives more chicken on their lunch special !

Love the food! Always order jerk chicken with cabbage n beans and rice. The plantains are so gooood,!I sometimes order extra. The small portion is very giving size. It’s usually more than enough for me. Service is always pleasant
