ordered extra beef at Sunset Thai. My understanding of “extra beef” is that it means additional meat. However, what I received was four small slices of beef and three meatballs — and that’s it. All of this for about $20?
Honestly, this feels unreasonable. In Santa Barbara, a large bowl costs around $17 and comes with nearly three times more meat. Here, I paid an additional $3.50 for “extra beef,” and it seems like I received just one extra piece of meat.
Could you please clarify what is included when selecting “extra beef”?
I also asked through the DoorDash driver for some extra broth, since the portion of broth was already very small. They didn’t provide any additional broth either.
On top of that, the “extra beef” I paid $3.50 for included only three meatballs and four small slices of beef. That does not seem like a fair portion for an extra charge.
Overall, I’m very disappointed with the portion sizes and the value for the price. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this place

Delicious Beef pho and chicken pho too. Just what I need for my cold. Picked up food several times, my granddaughter recommended as she is a big fan of Sunset Thai. Spacious yet cozy and very clean.

Since moving to Pismo, this is my favorite Thai place around. My mom and I come about every week. I get the vegetable Tom yum, it has a great variety of vegetables, a good level of spice and really bold but balanced flavors. We also get the tofu pad Thai with no egg which is soo good. Definitely recommend this place.

Amazing service! The staff is really friendly and was even able to change the milk in the boba to coconut milk for us! The atmosphere is really nice and so is the food. The beef broth in the pho was probably not made with real beef bone but the veggie coconut milk soup was off the charts! Would definitely come here again!!

Nice Thai food in town.
The papaya salad, tum kha soup, and green curry are decent west cost American standards and delicious.
The restaurant itself is clean, and the decoration is modernized.
Two minor things I would suggest:
1. Green bean has tap water taste
2. Smell a bit greasy inside when the door is closed
