As soon as I got my food, I started eating it. It was fresh very fresh and seasoned just right. I got fish and chicken and it was crispy. Just the way I like it. They have fresh lemonade, and tea. I’m met the owner and his wife they are some very nice down-to-earth folks. I’ll be making my way back soon to try something else on the menu. They do offer desserts, although I didn’t try any. I don’t recall any discounts, but the food is well worth it. Give them a try.

The food was delicious. Large servings full of flavor. Nothing fancy about this place, and looks cluttered inside, but I came for food, not environment. Would definitely come back. The owner was super friendly to us.

So, so good. Portion sizes were huge and the okra was wonderful. My only complaint is some things were a tad dry. Owner was friendly and spoke to everyone in the restaurant. Come here for some good, southern cooking.

I purchased my holiday meals from Sunset every year for Thanksgiving and sometimes Christmas or New Year’s. The complete meal feeds my entire family of five not just for that day, but there’s enough for us to have leftovers for a few days after which is fantastic. My mother and mother-in-law were amazing cooks, I’m not so this is a great Soul Food substitute. I love that now they know me by name that makes me feel more connected to them as if they are a big part of my family holiday celebrations. I highly recommend, especially if you’re not a great cook because this definitely tastes like home cooked food.

Food was excellent! My husband and I were visiting family in Charlotte and wanted some good “Sunday after church” dinner food. We both had chitterlings, and pinto/brown beans. He had cabbage and I had greens. My brother and sister in law had pork chops, cabbage and yams! Service was wonderful and friendly. Will be coming back again!

We ordered the croaker and flounder entrees and the fish on both plates were fishy tasting, the candied yams were dry and tasteless, we spent fifty dollars and were disappointed, never again. Make some good homemade tartar sauce instead of packets, the lemonade and sweet tea were too sweet also, just over all a bad experience.

After visiting my uncles in charlotte we were in need of food! We found this place on Google and I said they ain’t gonna be open on a Sunday… sure enough they were! With chitterlings, oxtails, turkey wings etc and more on the menu I had to try a few things! My wife and i got the turkey necks, chitterlings, and pepper steak… mind blown! The food was amazing! Semi-Fast! And succulent! Well worth the price and time. Have patience as orders are handwritten and prepared to order. BUT OH SO WORTH THE WAIT

I placed my order before they open up and when I got there almost an hour later it still wasn’t ready. The okra wasn’t fried and had so many straws in it. The fish was hardly fried. I won’t be returning there ever again. I really tried to support black own businesses. You have to do better and be consistent
