I visited for the first time in 40 years.
My family used to go alot when I was a child. They renovated the bathrooms
Everything things else is about the same.
The food seems homemade.
The salad bar seemed fresh and well taken care of.
The service was very interesting, almost too casual and unorganized.
Seems like an older person’s diner. Atleast on my visit. Of course I visited on Halloween so that may not be the usual clientele.
Worth a try if you’re looking for an old school diner.

Have lived in the area for 20 years and never stopped in. We have it a try today and I was impressed. Yes the decor is a bit dated. Yes, the clientele seems older. Who cares! The service was excellent, the food was very good and I was amazed at how affordable everything was. My wife had a very tasty chicken sandwhich and I had a double cheeseburger. Both meals came with fries and the bill was $26! Someone mentioned that they felt the service was too casual. That is one of the things I liked. They present themselves a family restaurant with good home cooking and I thought the service matched up with that vibe perfectly. Will be back.

Food was good, large portions and the price was right. Good service as well. Only thing wa the food itself was a little bland but as I told my brother who was eating with me I assume (and from what I saw) their clientele is probably on the older side and do not prefer ‘spicy’ meals. I was greeted quickly told I could take a seat never been here before. wanted some breakfast called ahead they said they were still serving. I ordered a ham and bacon croissant sandwich which was very good however my American fries I asked extra crispy and they were barely Brown most of them were white. I told the waitress about them and she did nothing And said nothing and started talking to other customers. I got a glass of water with lemon was never asked if I wanted more water when my food was delivered. As I was getting up to leave and pay my bill, my waitress asked me if I wanted a glass of water, I said no thank you I am leaving now I would like my bill so she got it for me; tried charging me full price and I refused to pay the full price. They took $2.00 off of my bill. Some local people were friendly. The waitress showed me my bill and she did write well done on the receipt. No manager was available.

This was a really bad experience. Our server was very miserable and grumpy and she made sure we knew that. I ordered a side of toast that never came. I asked about it and she said she will make it. I still never got it. My husband shared his toast with me. The waitress never came back to check on us. When we got the check, we were charged for the toast I never received. The food was not the best. The coffee was very weak and the food was sub-par. As my husband and I looked around the restaurant, all the servers were miserable. No one was happy to be working. The bathrooms were dirty. We will not be going back.

Made to feel very uncomfortable tonight. We got here around 6:45-6:50pm tonight. They close at 8pm. We ordered and ate and were done by 7:10pm. The whole time the busser was on his phone talking about how people showed up close to closing time and he was stuck waiting for us to leave. Highly disappointed today

I really like the homestyle cooking very much. Fast service. Some of my family are nearby so I stop in now and then at the Sunset if I am not eating with family or at my own home. I always am very happy with the things I get. Love their soup especially. Real comfort food for me. Good waitressing
