Sunset Creek is amazing! I love the revamp. The service was wonderful – everyone was very welcoming, accommodating, and attentive. Kudos to our server, Ryan, who went above and beyond! The Deviled Crab Dip and Spicy Mussels were phenomenal starters! My mom loved how seasoned her blue crab sandwich tasted, and my dad enjoyed his smash burger. I loved the crab cakes – it truly is ‘jumbo crab’ meat. There was another gentleman who continued checking on my family and I, who was so polite and warm. The view of the Patuxent River is so beautiful! The drinks were pretty and tasty! We will be spreading the word and returning!

We came here on a Friday afternoon for lunch. We sat outside under the covered back deck. We had beautiful views of the creek. Our waitress was helpful and friendly. She got our drinks right away and was able to answer our questions about the menu. The crabs we ordered were a nice size and served steaming hot. The apps and sandwiches were also served hot and tasted really good. We were really impressed. We will be back and also recommend to anyone looking for a nice meal on the water.

I live in the neighborhood and it’s nice to see that someone is trying to revamp Veras into something new. It is a beautiful spot with great views of the water. I added some pictures of things we tried. We tired the fried avocado balls on the plated corn and the crab sandwich. The crab sandwich was very good, very little filler if any. The avocado balls were surprisingly good and the corn was a great accent to the bite of jalapeno in the balls. Fried oysters were good and not over powered by the batter. I don’t expect to like everything on the menu, who does, and the chicken salad sandwich was mine. It has to much mayo and dill for me. But waiter was very kind and attentive without being to much there. Overall a very good experience and we will be back. We wish you all luck with this venture. Veras deserves it.

The new Sunset Creek — which used to be Vera’s — had delicious food and amazing water views. We enjoyed the crab dip, Cobb salad, burger and a tasty toffee cake dessert.
Tonisha was our server and was super attentive and knowledgeable. Hope to be back soon!

We are local and have been many times over the years and it’s always great. Most importantly, I had the most STUNNING wedding here on 6/3/23. I couldn’t have asked for a better venue. Don, the owner, was incredible to work with and made everything a breeze. Multiple photos because there’s not a bad view here!!

Great oysters and the onion soup is fantastic, (almost) as good as my moms and that is about as high praise imho as you can get – with thanks for the welcoming/heartwarming bar tending to boot

My husband and I made the trip down to Subset Creek at Vera’s after driving by the sign a handful of times. We decided to give it a chance despite mixed reviews. Our overall assessment is that this place has so much potential. We opted to sit outside because it was a nice day, however the tables on the patio were roasting. We heard 3 or 4 other tables opt to move inside after being seated because it was too hot. While a restaurant can’t control the weather, having umbrellas outside would’ve gone a long way. We would’ve stayed much longer if not for the heat. Food was decent, but overpriced. I had a chopped salad for $22 that had maybe 2 slices of lunch meant on it. We were charged $5 for a ginger ale. I have a food allergy (wheat) and my only real option was salad – staff and kitchen did not seem well versed in allergies. All in all, glad we tried it to check it off the list but won’t be going back any time soon. Such a shame because a few minor modifications to menu and outdoor set up and I could see us (and others) spending much more time and money here.

Crab balls were very tasty. We also had a smashed burger and the creek sandwich as well. Both just fine. Dessert was just “ok”. The best part of all was our very sweet and adorable waitress Kitty. We will go back because of her!!

Could not ask for a better atmosphere, nice breeze and shade from the umbrellas, the only place around that I know of with local blue crab and outside seating! Perfect spot to enjoy a drink and eat crabs.

Bonus – full menu with many great options for anyone not ordering crabs.

My daughters took me to dinner and we thought we would try something new. What a disappointment. Our food was awful. My crab cake was undercooked, my steak was pitifully small and overcooked. My daughters got soft crab sandwiches and they tasted so bad they only ate a couple bites. If you care about good food instead of a water view spend your money somewhere else. I don’t expect them to be in business very long
