I went to Sunrose California Eatery for brunch and the staff were really warm and welcoming. The food was delicious! The only small hiccup was that after ordering another coffee, we were asked a few times if we needed anything else while we were still drinking it. It felt like they might have wanted to give our table to someone else, which made it a bit tricky to fully enjoy the coffee. Not a big deal, but I wish they hadn’t rushed us . Overall, a lovely place and I’d definitely come back!

I grew up in this area, and honestly, this mall used to feel so dead. It’s wild how much it’s transformed. I was back in town visiting a friend and decided to check it out, and wow, totally different vibe now. Even for a weekday lunch, the place was buzzing with people. Definitely make a reservation if you want a specific time, because I’m glad I booked ahead.
The atmosphere is super cute, and the food really surprised me, in the best way. I came in with low expectations, but everything we ordered was on point. Service was excellent, too. Our server was attentive without being overbearing, and kept checking in to make sure we had everything we needed.
One highlight I have to mention: I asked for hot sauce on the side, and they brought out this house spicy sauce (not sure of the exact name) that was SO GOOD. If you’re into heat, definitely ask for it. It really takes the food up a notch.

Saturday morning for breakfast at this cozy restaurant. The food is delicious and the service very friendly. Is located behind the parking plaza where also is Basta, so you can park in any of those spaces and walk through beautiful stores around.

Wow this place is just so special. Culinary triumph with every dish. We had crispy spicy tuna which was out of this world, the shishito peppers with garlic creme fraiche that blew our minds and finished up with a sticky toffee pudding. Gavin is a sweet bartender and his margaritas, named “Gavin’s Margaritas” were next level. Don’t miss this place!

My coworker surprised me with a warm matcha latte and a blueberry muffin from Sunrise California Eatery, and both were exceptional! The matcha latte was crafted to perfection, the texture was velvety with a natural earthiness, and the matcha had a deep, layered flavor that was rich yet incredibly smooth. There was no bitterness, just a beautifully balanced blend with subtle sweetness and a comforting, calming finish. You can tell they use high-quality matcha and prepare it with care.
And the muffin… WOW! The freshness was obvious at first glance, and the generous amount of blueberries in every bite made the experience incredible: plump, juicy, and perfectly distributed throughout. It had that homemade bakery quality that’s hard to find. Huge shoutout to the baker! This place is highly recommended, a true hidden gem!

We’re brunch people, so even when we’re on the road we look for nice spots to start the day. If you find yourself in Agoura Hills or nearby, check out Sunrose. The people and the atmosphere are friendly. The deck area in the atrium is a great place to sit and enjoy brunch. My partner likes to get a side pancake or French toast but that wasn’t an option. The owner recommended we try the Dutch Baby. It’s a meal on its own or shareable and it’s delicious—try it! Sunrose also has several healthy breakfast options like the Sunrose breakfast and the Mediterranean. I had the Sunrose breakfast and enjoyed the mushrooms and grilled tomato with eggs and delicious toast, and of course tried a few bites of the Dutch Baby. Just the right amount of food. It’s right off the 101 so an easy detour.

Food was delicious. I had the egg salad on toast and a turkey sausage and both were so tasty. Nice quiet relaxing environment. Michelle was a very pleasant server.

We’ve eaten here a few times now, and it’s become a local favorite. Light, airy atmoshere. Elegant but comfortable, not fussy. Lots of shaded outdoor seating. The food is fresh, and made in house. I had eggs and bacon, and the bacon was delicious, thick cut. Today we had some pastries and coffee. Loved the tender, tasty Sultana scone. Definitely recommend. (They do take reservations online.)

Was in the area for two days, went to Sunrose both mornings for breakfast. I liked my egg white omelet. I also tried the Patatas Bravas and the steak and eggs as well. The Patatas were probably my favorite things. I loved my rosemary late, the place has a good ambiance.

Place is pretty. The Dutch baby pancake was good. Question about the Dutch baby though, why is there only like 5 berries on the dish? Sorta feels sad and scarce.
Anyways, service was strange and slooow (they might be under staffed in bar). Nothing nice or special.
Got steak frites. No.
Not seasoned. Also, all the blood and juices from steak goes on the salad… not appetizing when your salad is dressed with meat juice. Maybe put salad not in middle of plate or a separate plate…?
Had better food. Have cooked better food.
Sad but gave it a try.
Good luck.
