Fast & friendly service, great food, great prices. Perfect little local breakfast & lunch spot with good coffee!

My wife introduced me to this place. It is definitely my style. Good home style food. Country, small town kind of an atmosphere and the prices are fair. I’ve been several times now and I think it’s probably my go-to breakfast joint.

We ate breakfast here and the food was just not good. One person in our party got spoiled apple sauce. You could smell it and tell it was spoiled. It was ferminted. We addressed it they asked if we wanted more. That was a fast no. The service was good and they are friendly. It was also clean in customer view.

Sunrise Cafe so far is proving that it is just as good… or dare I say better than its predecessor. I ended up the with the Corn Beef Hash Skillet special with scrambled eggs toast and extra biscuit for good luck. As always the service, like the food, was awesome.

The Sunrise Skillet was acceptable, but underwhelming for the price point. The portion size was smaller than expected, with the dish leaning heavily on potatoes while noticeably lacking in meat. The gravy appeared to be compensating for an otherwise bland base, which suggests the core seasoning of the dish needs improvement.

The black coffee was extremely diluted, lacking the boldness and depth you would expect from even a standard diner-style brew. It barely registered as coffee.

The steak itself was prepared well and was one of the few highlights of the meal. However, the green beans were completely unseasoned. While vegetables can stand on their own, basic seasoning is a standard expectation when dining out.

Unfortunately, the mashed potatoes, gravy, and chicken noodle soup were the lowest points of the experience. The mashed potatoes were served cold. The gravy was also cold and had a taste that suggested it had been sitting for too long, with an almost fermented flavor. The chicken noodle soup was extremely watered down, lacking both broth depth and actual chicken content.

Service was average but inattentive. Drinks were not refilled, and my child’s drink did not arrive with his meal. I was also served food on a chipped plate, which raises basic food service and safety concerns. I specifically requested scrambled eggs for my 11-month-old child, and they were not prepared as requested.

We spent approximately $40, and a noticeable portion of the food went uneaten due to quality and taste issues. For the price, both portion size and food quality fell short of expectations. There are stronger dining options nearby. Joplin Cafe and Webb City Cafe offer better value, portion size, and overall food quality.

Very comfortable place to sit and talk with family or friends over a really good meal. This place is recently changed ownership, but the quality and service has not changed. Definitely recommend to anyone coming through Joplin area!

This place is usually a treat for me and my son since I am only in town every couple of weeks. Normally, even if busy, we are greeted and told just a minute or I will be right back. Not this time. We weren’t even acknowledged. We sat there looking at the clock and the bald guy with glasses glanced over numerous times in the 13 minutes we were standing there. Nothing. A group of 4 walks in the door and my son’s holds the door for them. Instantly the waitress walks up and says how many. Ignoring us. I just said to my son and now we will leave. My son replied we don’t even get to sit down and they get helped. Busy or not that is horrible customer service. I doubt we will be back and instead of recommending it I will be honest about its decline.

It’s ok eggs was little over cooked with brown spots gravy and biscuits could use more sausage and flavor. Super nice waitress Christian run business.

The food was good. The prices were good. Our server was fun and on top of things.

The restrooms need remodeled. It’s probably not their fault, and I can understand the challenges of trying to run a restaurant while your restroom is being remodeled. It doesn’t affect the atmosphere as long as you don’t use the restrooms…
