Get here early. The wait for a table is long and weekends are highly popular. Delicious homemade breads. Giant portions. Split an entree or be prepared to take leftovers home. Very casual all American breakfast dining reminiscent of a bygone era.

I hate to give a poor review when the service is so excellent. The food however is important in my opinion. The food was very disappointing. The hash browns were not edible. They were actually raw. The ham was barely warm in my scrambled eggs and ham. The biscuit appeared to be microwaved leaving it hard. I am not sure I have ever been so disappointed in a breakfast dining experience in my life. The only reason I gave the food 2 stars instead of one is because the food appeared to be of decent quality and presentable. With a qualified cook I dare say it might be edible. Not sure I will tru again, but if I do it will probably be not on a Wednesday in hopes of a different cook and definitely not ordering hash browns here again.

Want that mom and pop feel. Like that small town feel with a huge positive attitude. Wait staff is awesome 7 days a week, from open to close. Plus watch out for the breakfast bandit. He may pay for your meal and sneak out the door.

We had an amazing time. The service was amazing. It was the busiest time, but the waitresses were so nice and they helped us through everything and gave us refills and we’re just amazing. The staff is seriously the best and if you ever have any issues with your food, they will fix it with no problem and absolutely are so good anyway can’t say enough great things about this place. I had to make a review.

This diner bakes its own bread, and cinnamon rolls and the pancakes were delicious. I think they’re made from scratch. The service was great and our food arrived quickly and the portions were generous. I’ll definitely be going back the next time I’m in Portland!

My son and I have gone to Sunny’s several times in the past 6 months . We went today looking forward to the wonderful omelets, French toast, sausages and hash browns that we seem to order every time. Unfortunately we got our meals Luke warm. We sent it back to be remade to end up getting it barely warm. I know it’s was not the waiters fault because he was right on top of picking up the order. I’m not sure if you have new cooks that are completely inept at bringing things together, but from that experience we’re nervous to go back again. We spent over 54.00 on our meals. We did box it up and took it with us because it didn’t make any sense to ask to have it made a third time, and expecting a different result. Would have been nice to have been offered a discount.

Amazing experience at Sunny’s Diner! I was there today, and the country fried steak was outstanding, perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and topped with a delicious gravy. The hash browns were golden and full of flavor, easily some of the best I’ve had.
My brother ordered the spicy chicken sandwich, and it’s a must-try as well. The chicken was crispy, well seasoned, and had just the right amount of heat, all served on a soft bun that brought everything together perfectly. The food quality and flavors really stand out, everything looked and tasted delicious.

Sunny’s Diner in Clackamas-Sunnyside was truly excellent as compared with most of the best breakfast places we’ve eaten at. Their Cinnamon French Toast was excellent, as was my wife’s scrambled eggs & ham. The French toast wasn’t overly sweet either, as opposed to other places that overdue the sweetness/icing. I didn’t get our male waiter’s name, but he was pleasant and his service was outstanding and caring. It was apparent that all the waiters were very busy and punctual. You can’t go wrong with this Sunny’s Diner location. Great job !
