Loved the food! I ordered the bibimbap and asked for it extra hot and crispy, so good. My husband got the Korean fried chicken, and it was spicy and delicious. I’m honestly annoyed that I almost didn’t try this place because of a few bad reviews. It’s a small, family-owned restaurant, so don’t expect anything fancy, but the service was great. We even chatted with the owner while waiting for our food and had a really nice time. We’ll definitely be coming back. If you haven’t been yet, give it a try, don’t rely on the negative reviews. Experience it for yourself!

Walking in the main door felt like sneaking it an abandoned building/ a really shady underground bar. It definitely doesn’t give off professional restaurant vibes. The service is minimal, with the gentleman who gave us menus pointing to the coolers and stating all beverages are available, help yourself. No glass of water here. He suggested we consider ordering a couple things and sharing. The woman who delivered the food must not have been in on the sales pitch and seemed confused as to why we would need plates. Other than the ramen, food was served in takeout containers.
The food was okay to me, my hubs loved it. We shared a chicken ramen and chicken bulgogi. The ramen was good, though the cheese just clumped, so the distribution was never at best. The chicken was good. The bulgogi was ordered without spice. That chicken was overcooked and hard to chew. The strangest part (and I get this is a small town) is the cook left the kitchen, went “next door” to give a haircut, and then came back to continue cooking. I feel like there are more than a few health code violations going on here.

Very warm and kind atmosphere, incredible food, and large portion sizes (we are not dainty eaters and will still have plenty of leftovers for breakfast!). The place is run by a couple, and while we did not meet Sunny, who does the cooking, her husband handles the front-of-house and is absolutely wonderful. I have already made plans to come back with my family!

My husband called for take out shortly before close not realizing when you closed. Thank you so much for serving him! This was our first time eating Sunny’s and we will definitely be regulars!

We have an office near the airport. There are very few food choices, when I actually have time to eat I like to get take out from Sunny’s. Great Bulgogi, and the cucumber kimchi is tasty. The family run establishment takes my walk in and phone orders.
Still great food. You are not going to find a $10 meal so plan to spend a bit more. Bottled drinks from the cooler are plentiful. The building is showing it’s age, but don’t let that deter you. If you like spicy food the Beef Bulgogi at half hot is plenty to start. Feeling exceptional? Try the 3/4 hot, it about melted my face!

Not hibachi tables like we thought. I was personally not a fan of the teriyaki added to my hibachi veggies. Fast dining for lunch.

Sunny’s is absolutely the best Korean restaurant near Fort Riley! Can not recommend enough!

The food is great, and all aspects of the service were outstanding. I would recommend this Korean restaurant to everyone traveling and local to dine here. It’s reasonably priced and a generous amount of any dish. Try the Bulgogi!!
