I bought the chicken fried chicken, was not impressed at all. The pieces were extremely thin, you could barely taste the chicken OR the breading. What you could taste wasn’t very flavorful? The eggs and hash browns were find although those are hard to mess up. The pieces of toast were not good at all, any Texas toast from Walmart or even the dollar store would have been better. It was a beautiful restaurant that was very clean. The staff was very friendly, and they did fine checking on us. We stayed about 40 minutes and they asked us once if everything was ok, then again for a refill.

We stopped in on a Saturday for lunch and ordered the Bistro Burger, Signature Reuben, Sunny’s Skillet, and Kids Mac & Cheese. The food was good. Sunny’s Skillet is a large hashbrown with lots of stuff mixed in. It’s a pretty unique dish. Service is good here.

Update! We Love the atmosphere of this diner. This is our third time coming here. We live in San Antonio and visit family at Home Town. We have now had breakfast, and brunch here. The food was great and fries were our favorite. The Monterey Ranch Chicken Wrap was very filling and offered grilled and fried chicken. I did feel that it was light on chicken and heavy on veggies. We also got the pick 2 Cali BLT with GF bread and Berry Avocado Salad. Perfectly sized portions and my wife enjoyed both. For breakfast I had the Homemade Corn Beef Hash with 2 eggs over medium (yolk was perfect), and sour dough toast. Wife had the Berry Yogurt Bowl, and my daughter had the strawberry shortcake pancakes. All portions were perfectly sized and will definitely fill you up, especially the pancakes! Needless to say we will visit here each time we are in town. They also offer a 10% Military discount which we always appreciated.

First sign of trouble was that they didn’t have any working restrooms, which I think is not up to code. We were seated immediately, but it took 30 minutes to receive our food. Our waitress came to our table once. Our food was good, but I wouldn’t come back.

Our kids called this the homiest place we’ve ever had breakfast outside of our own home. The staff was super, attentive, friendly, and efficient! Everything we ordered was delicious: the kid Oreo pancake, the loaded hash browns, the wild berry pancake, and the chicken and waffles. The orange juice was fresh, and the coffee was bliss. Definitely a must!

Arrived on a Sunday morning around 10am. Dined in a nice quiet, country cozy atmosphere with lots of natural lighting. Dining area was relatively full. All customers seemed pretty content. There were plenty of staff to assist but they didn’t overwhelm anyone. The menu selection was typical for a country style breakfast and lunch spot but I noticed the items had some nice twists to them like my stuffed biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were truly fresh baked. Definitely not frozen. When I placed my order, I ordered 2 meals to dine in and 2 to take out. Prices are very reasonable. The wait was on the longer side but still acceptable. They brought me my take out when I was done eating. The only complaints I have is the cashier’s mannerisms didn’t match the atmosphere. Even though I was the only one in line to pay, his behavior seemed too rushed for the atmosphere. It was weird. Also, they didn’t ask about or include utensils in my take out order. Those two issues aside, I was very pleased and will be back.

This place is great.
Friendly staff, nice decor, great atmosphere. Mrs Ally was super friendly and helpful.
The food was some of the best breakfast we’ve had.
Ordered the summer specials, steak and eggs. They cooked it perfectly to order. Asked for soft scramble and they actually made it perfectly. Steak was medium rare, also made perfectly. It was well seasoned and everything tasted perfectly.
Their cinnamon pancakes are like cinnamon buns. Must try it..
