This place is the most basic, rustic, no frills restaurant that I’ve ever visited. And I loved it! Seafood, steamed only, I vegetable choice. Steamed broccoli, with cheese if desired. No fries, no hush puppies. Steamed seafood, packs of saltines, condiment set ups, beverage. That’s it. We enjoyed talking with our server? Shucker? Derrick.

This is a place that hides in plain sight. I have never been to a place like this, very unique but a lot of fun. Cute grandma type hostess was a blast and we were seated immediately. They offer a very unique free starter: Saltines and warm housemade cocktail sauce. The will give you some horseradish too, if you want some. That’s a first for me. The cocktail sauce was really good, and to be honest, I have never had cocktail sauce any warmer than room temp, so that was also a new one. The menu is pretty limited but what they do offer is very very good. The wait staff is excellent at describing the meno offerings and is excellent at explaining the different doneness levels of their oysters. We both started with steamed broccoli with cheese for an appetizer. It was delicious amd super fresh. They are happy to refill your drinks, cocktail sauce, and saltines all the time. They also provide unlimited warm clarified butter. I ordered the 1lb scallops dinner and they were AMAZING! OMG! If I’m going to be near the coast, I’m going to get seafood. The scallops were soooooo good. Even the leftovers the next day were as delicious as they were fresh out of the kitchen. The atmosphere was very friendly and casual. If you are in Williamston, definitely give this place a try. You won’t be sorry smile ☺️

This place is an institution, having started business in the 1930s. We took some friends from WV there. As they stood outside, waiting for Sunny Side to open, they wondered if I were crazy taking them there. Leaving, they apologized to me and said it was the best seafood they’ve ever had!

This place is off the chain!! If you want white table cloths and snooty service, this is not the place. If you want friendly and happy people, great customers and outstanding oysters, this is the place! Never been? Just ask the person shucking for you for some guidance. Very helpful team. Despite all I can say about the people, the oysters are the stars. We will be back!!

A genuine good old fashioned no frills oyster bar. Communal seating around a u shaped bar. Order oysters (raw or steamed), scallops, shrimp, crab legs etc. Everything steamed. Loved the broccoli W chease starter. Everything delicious. Very friendly servers/shuckers. Good value, good times. Honestly, the people could not have been nicer. At at the coolest oyster bar ever. It was built in 1935 and has never changed the way the serve. The place holds about 25 people at a time and can have up to a 3.5 hour wait. We lucked out and slid in one night just before closing. The food was amazing they suck the oysters in front of you making ur a unique experience with your server. 2 of which had been there 55 and 52 years.
