In the newly renovated Lexington Market, this spot is a gem! The line stayed long with customers ordering delicious breakfast dishes and colorful fruity drinks. It was my first time there and I was not disappointed. The cashier was very friendly and enthusiastic about his job. He was also helpful in suggesting the best item to purchase. The salmon sausage egg and cheese on croissant was great! So was the steak and scrambled eggs and cheese on Texas toast. I would’ve loved to try the sweet potato maple fried chicken biscuit but thy were sold out of them. That only means I have to go back! There were so many different things to try but what I noted are some of the more popular items along with the crab dip croissant. I was impressed with this because the crab dip was not mayonnaise based but cream cheese based and the croissant just balance the taste perfectly!

Yall I feel like these people played on my face. The service wasn’t necessarily bad but I wasn’t greeted when I walked up and was staring at the menu and the cashier was chatting with two other guys who were sitting in the chairs at the stall. No problem. I go to order their waffles platter. The menue has about 3/4 different flavor options and the cashier didn’t ask me for any particular one. Just rang in the normal plain waffle which again… was fine. But when I went to pay this man said $27 AMERICAN DOLLARS. Yall it’s breakfast food. Literally breakfast food. Nothing special. Waffles, eggs/cheese and sausage oh and an orange juice they pour from the jug into a pouch. If you just want some breakfast early in the AM hit the stall next to them. Their waffle platter was only 12 bucks. If you want some powdered sugar on some mini waffles than go to this place . PS.. the eggs aren’t pictured

The food was excellent!! We dropped in on a Monday morning – during a very busy time. Not much seating, just a few stools for counter. The wait was kinda long, about 1/2 hour – no points deducted b/c the food was well worth the wait!! I ordered the salmon sausage breakfast sandwich (a must try) and a side of potatoes. The fruit tea was too sweet for my liking, but hey it’s just my opinion. I will return when visiting Baltimore/Lexington Market.

Review specifically for their biscuit. Very satisfying, hearty homemade feeling – they served it warm and coated with butter. Service is great too, very friendly owner. Will have to find another opportunity to try other items on their menu.

Hubby and I decided to take a Monday and eat our “big back” selves through Baltimore today and this incredible cafe was our first stop! After driving over an hour to get here, I was hungry and not to be played with. I ordered the crab biscuit and the cashier initially made a joke and said they had it but quickly said no. I was like that’s a horrible joke for as hungry as I was and far we came! D is great though.. excellent service! The owner quickly stepped in and told us they will have them at 11. They sold out of them over the weekend. Say less and we decided to pay for them and Wait. Well you know we had to order something to hold us over and goodness the catfish and grits… . Let me just say this was THE BEST catfish I’ve ever eaten. Crispy breading with a tender and flaky center. The grits were delicious with a sweet hint of honey. Hubby ate his so fast… you see the empty container! At the time of writing this, we are eagerly waiting for our biscuits and trust me, I KNOW they will be out of this world.

Sunny side really is the best side! The ‘Salmon Creole Sandwich’ hugged my soul twice, and “I’m Not a Player, I Just Brunch a Lot” was unreal—Cap’n Crunch Berry French toast, scrambled eggs, upgraded to salmon sausage…all perfection. Visiting Baltimore for a long weekend and loved it so much we came here twice. Super welcoming staff front and back of house. This place is a must-visit.

I ordered the turkey bacon sandwich and it was easily one of the best I’ve had. The bread was incredibly soft and fresh, which made every bite perfect. The turkey bacon was thick and cooked just right and everything was well balanced without being messy or overwhelming. You can tell care goes into the food here simple ingredients done really well. I’d absolutely order this again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a satisfying, well made sandwich.

From the moment we ordered to the moment we got up to leave, the customer service was outstanding! Thank you to D for the warm and energetic vibe! The kitchen was clean and everyone working followed proper sanitation guidelines. (a lot of handwashing and clean surfaces) Food came out hot and fresh and I could tell the oil was fresh because the fries re-heat at home as if I cooked them fresh!
I ordered the Chopped fish sub, Cajun chicken sub, chicken tenders and fries and the chicken and waffles; everything was great!
Really looking forward to our next visit at Lexington Market and specifically to visit Sunnyside Cafe! -Damia

This is an awesome little spot in the Lexington Market. Came here twice early in the morning on my trip to Baltimore from Toronto. It can get quite busy even in the mornings.
I tried the basic Rising breakfast sandwich and the Catfish and Grits on the two days. I was served by one of the co-owners – Charles – who was extremely kind and gracious.
The food was delicious and great value for the price. I would highly recommend this place if ever you visit Baltimore. I will definitely come back again if I come back to Baltimore!

The food was terrible and cold for it to be cook to order. The customer service was good. I also thought the salmon sausage would be a breakfast sausage but it’s Italian sausage.
