Sunny’s is our go-to spot, and the woman who answers the phone and serves us is truly the heart of the place. She’s phenomenal — always cheerful, incredibly hardworking, and has never once messed up an order. She’s spot-on with pickup timing, makes every interaction easy, and clearly takes pride in what she does. Honestly, she’s the best part about the restaurant and a big reason we keep coming back. Highly recommend!

We ordered several times from them, usually food was okay, but today they served us old chicken it was stale and had an odd taste and smell, definitely not appropriate to be eaten. we called to ask if they changed chef or why is the food different and not fresh, they basically told us that we were wrong. I’m wondering how many customers they served old chicken today at this restaurant?! we threw all the food in the garbage. very disappointed in the food and service. the food was either recycled old and not fit to be served to customers to eat! Watch out from this place!

First time ordering. Placed order in advance because it was a large order. Ready on time, friendly service and fantastic food. Fed 13 people with a dinner for 6 and a dinner for 4 and had a fair bit of leftovers. I highly recommend this Chinese food.

Today when we ordered , Dinner for 6 and 2 extra dishes for a fairly large family dinner, we were told 30 minutes to pick it up.
We live 10minutes away, so we were disappointed food was cold.
The sweet and sour chicken ball was gross the sweet and sour pork was old and dry. we ordered were two of the most disgusting dishes I have ever had. One was a curry chicken which tasted like feet
The noodle dishes were cold and not a lot of taste.
We’ve been to sunny restaurant many times before and the food has always been great
Would never come back here again. Meal and service was poor using dishwasher gloves handle food items from the window that unsanitary.
This is unacceptable adding extra inflation fee of 10% over the 13% you pay for the food. Spend your money elsewhere and get a better meal and service for the price.

We tried Chinese food from Sunny’s on Mother’s Day 2021. It was incredibly busy but worth the long wait. Really good food, and unlike every other place we’ve had Chinese food at, we weren’t dying of thirst afterward. That’s a big plus! Food was fresh and tasty. The staff are friendly and helpful. Portions are on the small side though. But we will go back and try again.

The best Chinese food I’ve had in Durham Region by far. The food is always tasty, and the portions are perfect. They have the best General Tao’s Chicken I’ve ever tasted! I drive from Bowmanville to get food from Sunny’s, and I know others come from Ajax because it’s simply the best. Great value and great service from the lady who works there (I’m sorry, I forget her name.) 10/10 will recommend to everyone!

My go-to Chinese restaurant (near the border of Courtice and Oshawa) was closed, so I decided to give this one a shot. I’d heard good things about it from a friend, as well as some strangers on a town social media group, but had never tried it.
I ordered the dinner for two, and drove out to Orono to pick it up. The lady who was working the front of the restaurant was very kind and great both on the phone and in person, and was excellent at her job. That made the experience better.
The food was pretty good, but it cost several dollars more than I’m used to paying. I also still prefer my favourite restaurant, which has spoiled me when it comes to Chinese food.
I won’t be driving the forty minutes to get food here, but it’s a solid option for those who are closer.

Well, not happy. We drove from port hope and when we got home it was the wrong food. It was labelled the correct food but when we opened the box it was something different. Also the food was very dry. No sauce at all. Boring flavor. The only good thing was the lady taking our order. I didn’t catch her name but she in my opinion is the nicest women I have ever met.

Don’t eat here! This is the 3rd time I’ve attempted this restaurant, and EVERY time I’ve been severely disappointed! The food is NOT fresh! I just spent a little over $14 for literally a tray of fried rice that was likely cooked a day or two ago as it was like little bullets with so much soy sauce added that the rice had turned a deep dark brown, nearing what I’d call black it was so dark. Not to mention the rice ONLY has little pieces of chicken and peas in it, which for me is very boring and a lazy way of making rice! The ‘sesame pork’ that came with the rice tasted as though it was cooked a number of days ago and thrown in the fryer definitely more than once! It tasted of dirty oil/equipment. Needless to say it went in the green bin. And the restaurant itself has a very stale, musty odor upon entry, which is a huge turn off! I will NEVER go here again, nor would I recommend it to anyone!! Unfortunate, as there isn’t much to choose from in Orono, but I’d rather not eat than go here to be honest.

We ordered about $65 worth of Chinese food and will never order from there again. The sweet and sour pork
was disgusting as there were so many small pieces of dry pieces that were unedible. I even took about one third back to show them how bad it was. The egg rolls were overdone as well. The owner did not even reach out to apologize for the poor quality. Never ordering from there again.
