From the first bite to the last, my meal was a standout. The pork barbecue was tender and juicy with just a gentle kiss of smoke that let the meat shine. The shrimp were clearly fresh, with that perfect snap that made them truly finger-licking good. I loved the hush puppies too—light and fluffy inside with a golden, satisfying crunch on the outside. The red coleslaw and some of the local sauces leaned a bit vinegary for my taste, but the house sauce more than made up for it—absolutely fantastic, and even the spicy version had just the right balance of heat and flavor.
What really made the experience special was my waitress, Tiffany. She was young and humble, incredibly friendly, and went out of her way to make sure I was happy. When the temperature dropped quickly as the sun set, she noticed right away and kindly changed my order to go without any hassle. She even made sure I had one of each of their barbecue sauces tucked into my to-go bag so I could enjoy them all later. Her warmth and attention to detail added a personal touch you don’t find everywhere. Great food paired with such thoughtful service means I’ll definitely be back—and you should be asking for Tiffany’s section when you visit Sunny Daze! .

Sunny Daze Smokehouse in Carolina Beach delivered a mixed experience: very good overall thanks to excellent service and a clean space, but the food and atmosphere had a couple of drawbacks.
Service here was excellent—friendly, attentive, and on top of things from start to finish. The restaurant itself was clean and well kept, which made the visit comfortable and inviting.
Tried the brisket and pulled pork; both were good but not quite at a “wow” level for barbecue, so the food landed more in the “solid” than “standout” category. Portions and quality were fine, just not memorable enough to make this an automatic must-return spot for the food alone.
The main downside was the music volume, which was too loud and made it harder to relax and have a normal conversation. Turning it down a notch would really improve the overall atmosphere.
Overall, a decent smokehouse with great service and a clean dining room, but with food that’s just good and an environment that would benefit from quieter music.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE! The service and hospitality are outstanding. I am very particular about chicken wings and @sunnydazesmokehouse were the best I have had! We loved both red (vinegar based) and white (mayo based) slaw My husband is particular about pulled pork and said it was great as well. He started eating before I could get the photo We are definitely bringing friends and family here every chance we get. Thank you for a great lunch date experience! @sunnydazesmokehouse ❤️

Incredibly good and tasty Brunswick Stew. The brisket sandwich was good too and a little different than the ones we get at smokehouse joints… Great service, although, I think the waitress watered down my pink lemonade refill 🙂 as it came back totally white, but it must have been a mistake. The seats outside have a great view.

Omg!! We had the best time and best BBQ and brisket (and onion rings!). Sat on the porch for the Night Kite festival with the most amazing view. Our food was soooooo good. Naked chicken wings, brisket, BBQ, Brunswick stew, and ribs. Sooooo good! And Madison was the best server!! Will 100% come back. It was night so we couldn’t see, but I’m pretty sure it’s an ocean view! Super recommend. Oh….and the owner is a doll!!

Are here with 5 adults, a toddler, and 2 babies. Mindy took care of us and was incredible! We had amazing pina coladas for the table and shared the delicious loaded fries. Everyone loved their food and the spicy bbq wings are top notch. Are too quickly to take pictures but we had a great time and will certainly be back!
