I don’t know why I never discovered this place before. It was delicious and made fresh. I had to wait for it to cool down. Excellent service and large portions as you can see. Definitely a must try!

Good fresh food. Best kung Bao chicken I ever tasted from a Chinese restaurant here in the Kansas city metro area, great portions too. The orange chicken is really good with real oranges peels. Will for sure come back again!

First time at this Chinese spot; didn’t even know about them. Very casual to-go place with a very good menu selection.
We ordered 3 different dishes with rice and shared; all of them. We had the Seafood delight, Triple delight with garlic sauce and a spicy chicken dish – dishes we like in general. The food was made promptly with fresh ingredients. The owners were courteous and helpful .
It’s a small clean space that is primarily take out business (they had a steady stream of customers but the wait was minimal.
They serve everything ‘to go’ but they do have seating for about 8-12. They provide paper plates and plastic utensils if you wish to eat it there which we decided to do. It was a nice, cozy, rustic and enjoyable early dinner.
My friends suggested the place because they eat here often and I understand why and now that I know how good their food is, I’ll be exploring more of their offerings.

I have to echo what I’m reading from most of these reviews. If you’re in the Turner/South KC area and you’re looking for good, affordable food, you need to stop by Sunny China.
I’ve been eating at Sunny China since it opened and it is probably the only restaurant I can think of that I’ve never left disappointed. Their food is delicious, well priced and their portions are ridiculously large – so much so that my wife and I typically split their lunch combo plates (the smaller portion sizes) and sometimes still end up with a few bites to put in the refrigerator.
There is legitimately nothing I wouldn’t recommend off their menu. If you’re a crab rangoon fan, I think they might have the best in the city. Super creamy with just a touch of sweetness. I could eat 10 of them for lunch just by themselves.
Also, I have to touch on some of the negative comments here, typically relating to the owner’s attitude. The staff is very quick, to the point and efficient. They’re not conversationalists, but never have I felt they were being rude. At the end of the day though, I’m here for quick, delicious, affordable food – not ‘service with a smile’. I cannot recommend this restaurant more.

The honey chicken gave me food poisoning and the staff seems really disrespectful. rushes to order and im pretty sure they use rotten chicken. too pricey when i can go somewhere else for better and im not going again.

Food was pretty decent! Good flavor. But what was best about our experience getting food here was that when my mother left her wallet sitting somewhere in the restaurant while waiting for our food, she got distracted and forgot it! She didn’t even realize until way late at night after close. Thankfully, whoever was working that evening noticed the wallet and put it away for safekeeping and my mother was able to get it back the following morning. She was extremely grateful and we admire the honesty and integrity of the employee and business! So glad they noticed the wallet and are clearly paying attention to their restaurant.

Chicken so dry it wouldn’t chew. Paid extra for fried rice I got white. Never offer sweet and sour when you order crab Rangoon. I forgot to ask! Price has went up but the food quality has gone down.

I’ve been going here for over two decades. They are so fast and the food is amazing. For my entire childhood anytime I was sick my mother would get me sunny China and almost every time I would be better the next day. They are the epitome of comfort food! I will say, I do miss the lemon chicken so much. I’m not sure why they don’t have it anymore
