Sunflour Baking Company is a cozy spot with friendly staff and cool artwork! The cinnamon roll was amazing, and the bacon egg cheese on a cheesy biscuit was so tasty. Loved the caramel iced latte and refreshing lavender lemonade. Definitely coming back!

We were visiting Ballantyne and this was the first place we went and it set the perfect vibe for the rest of our stay! We loved how many bakery items this place had to offer, and the staff was amazing!! Not to mention that this place is definitely kid friendly. We sat outside and they brought our food outside for us, and overall just the sweetest people!! 10/10 I would definitely recommend to anyone!!

Got a salted caramel birthday cake. It looked beautiful but the taste was bland. The cake was dense. The icing thin. If you hadn’t told me it was salted caramel I am not sure I could have identified the flavor. 7 people ate a piece and the only comment was “the cake is really dense.” Not one positive comment.

Last Thursday – Sunflour Baking Company

I did avocado Panini, it was excellent just needed some sort of dipping sauce I think. To be honest, I didn’t ask if they had anything so that’s on me. But it was done on homemade sourdough.

Tried a variety of sweet treats, one of which was gluten-free and vegan. The lemon donut! Not gonna lie my absolute favorite was a lemon poppyseed muffin. I could’ve eaten a whole loaf if they had one.

Also tried the cheddar cheese biscuit and for me, it was great! I really really liked it.

The pesto provolone roll was quite good.

I was trying to figure out some of the flavors and I know it had to be herbs.

The coconut macaroon was very good. It is sweet as was the lemon cupcake so be prepared!

All in all, I will definitely be back and the young ladies working there were really hands-on and attentive.

I did notice that there were people they are working on their computer or meeting – seemed like a pretty sweet deal. Yes, pun intended!

Oh! I forgot to add that I had gotten a coupon as part of a move-in (welcome to the neighborhood) mailer that I guess everyone gets from local businesses. Definitely worth it!

Question: for anyone that knows, why is there a Mecklenberg food tax on the receipt? Just curious, not complaining I don’t ever remember seeing it but then again perhaps I wasn’t looking lol! Who gets it? Where does it go?

Went in today to get an iced cinnamon latte. It took like 15 minutes after I ordered to get it.. once I did the syrup they use was all the way at the bottom I put the straw in to try and mix it.. the only thing that came out was the syrup it was clogged in the straw it wouldn’t mix. I go to the counter and tell them I get it remade and i got the same thing. It was so gross and upsetting

Ordered 50!!!! mini King Cakes for Fat Tuesday and they did NOT disappoint! Amazing size for the price (baby included!), and proceeded to buy $50 worth of my own goodies upon pickup. Coffee was great too, along with the staff!

We visited this location on a Friday morning and they were fairly busy. Here are a couple of our observations.

1. When you enter the restaurant is filled with natural light. It feels warm and inviting. The pastry case is the focal point straight ahead. To your left is a coffee bar and to the right is the dining area. The dining area is rather small so it would not be a place for large groups or people who are very loud. The dining area was very clean and neat.

2. They had really good customer service. Everyone was kind and patient as we ordered. They also bring your food out to your table when its done. Our only complaint was the wait time. It took a really long time to receive our sandwiches. It was about 15 minutes. The kitchen was a bit busy but it only appeared to be about 2 other orders ahead of us.

3. The food was bland. We ordered an egg provolone, and spinach croissant, turkey and cranberry club, pecan sticky bun, a chocolate croissant, and a caramel katte along with 2 orange juices. Our order was about $45 (which we felt was reasonable). While all of our food was ok, it was nothing memorable about it. We wanted to really love the pastries but we just didn’t.

4. You should try this location if you’re in the area. You’ll get good service and decent food. However, I would not make a special trip to dine here.

We started off with a massive almond croissant. The layers inside were so delicious. It also had some almond paste inside which was very good. Both of the breakfast sandwiches were amazing. The homemade breads really made them great 🙂

Found this spot because it was close to my hotel and I’m so glad I did. I’ll definitely make this a regular visit location. Bravo to the spot! I love the play on the name Sunflour: indicating everything is baked in house. The fact that they had lots of Vegan options for me and even more options for my family was amazing. I of course got the Lavender 5 shots Latte with Oat Milk and it was probably one of the best cups I’ve ever had. You could actually smell the lavender. The foam was perfect and the cup was just delightful delicious. I also bought 4 cupcakes ( 2 red velvet, 1 lemon & 1 pistachio) they didn’t even make it home the kids ate them up. I was told they were finger licking good. I also purchased 2 vegan scones, 1 cheddar & chive biscuits & 1 cinnamon roll. I think I paid $40 for 8 bakery items & 2 lattes. So the price was great this spot is a must if you love fresh food made with love and good ingredients.
