You haven’t lived until you’ve had an Egg, cheddar, avocado breakfast sandwitch from Sunflower but it must be on one of their exclusive cheddar biscuits!
Can be slow sometimes and in the past service has been up and down – but over the past several years they’ve made huge improvements to staffing. Current staff are great and very helpful!

What a charming spot. The moment I stepped inside, the scent of fresh baked goods wrapped around me like a warm hug. It instantly set the tone for a cozy and welcoming visit. The team here has a calm and friendly energy, and you can tell they love what they do.
Every bite tasted like it came straight from someone’s home kitchen. The bread and pastries felt thoughtfully made, soft on the inside with that perfect delicate finish. I ordered an English muffin and it was nothing like the usual kind you buy at the store. It was thick, pillowy, warm, and had the kind of texture that makes you pause and appreciate the moment. A true treat for anyone who loves comforting baked goodness.
We also enjoyed an avocado sandwich packed with fresh flavors. The creamy avocado, rich cheese, and earthy pesto all came together on that freshly baked bread. It disappeared in moments, which says everything. The bacon, egg, and cheese was another winner, generous and satisfying with every bite.
The coffee was bold and smooth, the kind that wakes you up in the best way and pairs beautifully with everything on the table. My cappuccino was foamy, warm, and just what a morning deserves.

This weekend’s pastry adventure was to Sunflour Baking Company. Everything was delicious! I only wished the cinnamon roll had cream cheese icing. Overall, I would return.

Cute and awesome cold brew! Phenomenal staff. Not the place to come to if you have a lot of food sensitivities. Looks like they have awesome gluten-free pastries though! I just couldn’t eat anything because of my sensitivity to sugar and dairy. There’s dairy in the eggs. But I’d still come for the vibe and cold brew.

Small but delicious bakery. Selection is great with a bunch of assortments of pastry and bakery items. They have GF and Vegan options. The Vegan Chocolate Chip banana muffin and Vegan Chocolate Cookie were 10/10. Highly recommend.

The service was good and the staff were friendly, which I appreciated. However, the food quality and variety were lacking, the display case was almost empty. The café interior also needs better cleaning; there were bread crumbs under most of the tables and the overall space felt untidy.

Second time I have visited the East Blvd location- and the last. The young Staff is unorganized and unfriendly, and my croissant was so dry it felt like eating paper. The whole sandwich was a total let down! The other locations are just as pitiful- I’ve visited NoDa several times and Elizabeth. Wrong order delivered to me, unfriendly young staff, always out of stock of chips, bread varieties- and overpriced for lackluster food …this is what happens when you go from one great restaurant to expansion to franchises all over the city . You loose everything that made your place great!

While we were visiting Charlotte my wife chose this bakery. It fulfills her sweet tooth and my appetite for savory. I was skeptic but found a sandwich that I wanted, The Club she had the cheddar biscuit with egg, ham and cheese, then we had ordered a cinnamon roll.
I have to say the club I ordered was filled with turkey and ham, almost so much it was hard for me to take a bite. The sandwich was amazing, I enjoyed and finished feeling very satisfied. My wife’s cheddar biscuit with egg, ham and cheese was great too. Too full to try the cinnamon roll at that very moment. We drove back to Charleston, SC so I waited until we got home to try the cinnamon roll and to my dismay I was disappointed… disappointed that now I have to drive 3 hours to get the awesome cinnamon roll!!!

We ordered 2 sunny specials and they both came out with bacon instead of sausage. The cheddar biscuit was burnt and dry. We also got a coffee and it was disgusting.
The other location on Elizabeth is way better. Take the few extra minutes and drive there
