Sunday in Brooklyn is a delightful little corner spot that seems small initially, but actually has plenty of seating throughout – including in an upstairs space.
Regardless, we were promptly seated (without a reservation) in a table downstairs, and had very friendly, hospitable service throughout our visit.
While dining, we ordered a few of the cocktails, and I found each one I tried to be a good amount of strength while also creative in the flavors and heat.
My personal favorite was the Ski Lift, which is a hot cocktail with bourbon, coffee, and other ingredients – soooo soothing, STRONG, and flavorful!
Now on to main event – the food!
My wood-fired lasagna was INCREDIBLE – so much flavor, texture, and uniqueness to each bite.
My partner’s chicken pot pie was similarly unique and yet familiar in its excellent textures and taste!
Sunday in Brooklyn had a wonderful ambiance, lovely food, and great service – I highly recommend!
Also ordered the warm grain bowl, and it arrived in what felt like 5 minutes — unbelievably fast service. The bowl itself was pure comfort: warm, rich, and beautifully balanced. The eggs were cooked like a soufflé — soft and melting — topped with a gigantic half avocado and a generous handful of pepitas (which I love and rarely see done this well). The rice underneath was so delicious.
Finished with a cappuccino, served instantly in a lovely porcelain cup — the perfect touch to end brunch.
Our server was incredibly kind and attentive, checking in often to make sure everything was perfect. Honestly, one of the best brunch experiences we’ve had in
I recommend trying the Sage Fright brunch cocktail, the Wood Roasted Half Chicken for dinner and the S’mores soft serve for dessert. The S’mores latte is fun too for all the s’mores fans.
Overall, I wouldn’t be reluctant to go back, but it wouldn’t be my first choice either.
I really wish we could give 1/2 stars. Food was more of a 3.5.
We got a bunch of stuff.
We split a table pancake.
I got myself the biscuits and gravy, onion soup and a hot chocolate to warm up. Ya know?
Food was good. Some may have been overhyped, but it was good none the less.
Enjoyed time with friends and that’s all that matters in these cold months.
It made our friend baby steve’s dreams come true.
We came for the pancakes and shared a double stack of the Sunday Pancakes and the egg and cheese sandwich. Both were great choices. The pancakes had a lovely balance of nutty and sweet with a soft, fluffy texture (the edges were crispy which I appreciate). The egg sandwich stood out for the crispy hash brown, soft egg although personally, I would’ve preferred a softer bun like brioche over sourdough.
Next time, we’ll definitely do a single stack and a sandwich to share, or a double stack and skip the sandwich. Bonus: they make a really good s’mores latte.
Our server was great but they could have been more intentional with the order in which dishes arrived at the table however this is on our list of favorite pancake spots. I definitely recommend.
The pancakes are good as usual whenever I want my fill. It’s bit sweet for my personal taste but it’s really fluffy which is the best part of it.
