I can not tell you how happy I am to have a good Thai restaurant close to home! Had the Panang curry and Massaman curry, both delicious and plenty of food. Great list of wines, not sure about other alcohol beverages but seemed to have a bar. Nice outdoor patio area, attentive and personable staff. I probably enjoyed that they give you a small bucket for your leftovers more than I should have We definitely plan to return!

Walk in to find the Host / Waitress “Jill” with her face in a bowl of noodles and obviously put off that she needed to get up and attend to a customer. Given a menu and I simply asked “where was the PHO located” on the menu and in a very sarcastic tone told “under soup”. I could see by the look on her face and her terrible customer service just how things would play out if I chose to place any order. My order dine in and the take out I would have ordered would have been well over 200$ Will not return and will advise others not to visit as well. What really confuses me was why she was eating in clear view of customers. She seems to think she’s in her own living room

I was pretty impressed with this place when I visited. They’ve only been open about six weeks, so while not everything was perfect, I was really happy with my experience. I travel through rural Illinois about once a year, but would definitely stop here the next time I’m in the area! The menu has nice variety. If you don’t want spice, you’re set. If you do want spice, the blend they use is awesome! I like my food really hot, and I got exactly what I wanted. The people who work there are also very friendly. My main quibbles are pretty small: The timing of the food was a little off, but again, this place is really new, and there are things to work out. (These are clearly good people who want to offer good food.) I would like to see some hot drinks on the menu, especially in winter; I would also like for them to offer chopsticks to those who want them. But these are small things, and I’m sure a lot of the details will be worked out in time. If you’re in Carlinville, give this place a chance!

Incredible food and service. Given there was only one server-cashier-bartender running the whole front. She did an amazing job. The country cury bowl was the best I have had. We will be back to try more of the menu.

Very American version of Thai recipes however, still good food and good atmosphere. The employees should try to stay off their personal devices. It distracts them from great customer service. Why I didn’t give five stars. Prices are reasonable and right in line with Mimosas and other Thai restaurants. Fills up fast, small dining room, so head in early.

I’m so thrilled to have a Thai place in Chatham. This is hands down my favorite restaurant in town. I like the Thai iced tea, peanut tofu salad, and shrimp or tofu pad Thai. My husband has tried a couple of spicy curries and enjoyed both. The service has been good each time I’ve been. I cannot speak to authenticity, but the taste and quality of the food is comparable to or better than places I’ve eaten in various larger cities across different states.

The wait staff was very nice. The food came out pretty quick but the food was terrible. The soup was okay. We had the peanut curry which tasted like they took peanut butter and made it to a sauce and put some crushed peanuts on top. The red curry had no flavor. It didn’t taste like authentic Thai food.

I love this restaurant! The people who work there are patient and kind. The food is amazing. And the drive through is the ” icing on the cake!” Can’t say enough good things about Sun Thai, so glad they came to Chatham!

To start off, there was no direction on where to sit or if we needed to seat ourselves. The woman behind the bar said hello and then ignored us the rest of the time. We were finally waited on about ten minutes after being there. The server was pretty rude and didn’t really care about what we wanted (and made it obvious). We ordered an appetizer and it came out 30 minutes later along with our food ten minutes after that. An appetizer should not take that long to make and then we couldn’t even enjoy it because our food came out so quickly after. We were waited on a total of two times because the ladies decided talking to each other behind the bar was more important. In total, we were here over an hour when we should have been done well before then. There was also a bone in the food. Disgusting. Will not be eating here again even if it’s the only place open in town.

Our carry out order was ready about 25 minutes later than the time we were told on the phone. The Pad Thai didn’t taste bad, but didn’t taste like Pad Thai at all—more like lo mein. The other dish we ordered—Masaman curry—was way too over cooked and the sauce was really watery. A couple of the crab Rangoon we ordered were burned. I would have sent everything back to the kitchen if we would have dined in.
