Wow, I visited Sun Sun for the very time and I was greatly disappointed. First of all let me say, that the customer service was unwelcoming and the worst I’ve ever experienced. They had at least seven staff members working this day not including the cashier and they were all extremely unfriendly excluding the cooks who were in the far back. The other staff members walked around at the front several times and none of them said hello, greeted us with friendly customer service, made eye contact or even bother to acknowledged our presence. The cashier didn’t ask how he could help us when we got to the counter. I basically had to say hello and tell him that I was picking up an order. You would think that this business would be friendly and accommodating towards customers who’s supporting their business, but none of them did which was pretty creepy. Secondly the food was horrible!!! I have never in my life tasted Chinese food this bad. I ordered the ginger chicken with vegetables and brown rice. The food was very bland and the so-called chicken looked and tasted nothing like poultry at all. It was like I was eating an unknown animal being disguised as chicken. The chicken that was in some dreadful looking gravy that came with stirred fried vegetables which was all disgusting!! I asked for broccoli as an add-on and they charged me $3 for three Spears. In addition I asked for a spring roll and they were so tiny, that I didn’t even bother to eat it. I’m sorry but the food here honestly taste like it was prepared by someone who barely knows how to cook. The restaurant was very clean, but that was about it. I ended up throwing the foodaway. Shortly after eating it my stomach start to feel achy. I’m a chicken lover so I know what real chicken looks and tastes like and that wasn’t it! Between the deplorable customer service an awful food I would never recommend this place to anyone!!

This is mainly a take out restaurant with a side room where people can eat their food. I was disappointed because I thought it was a sit down restaurant. The service was fine for a take-out place. The young man at the counter was very nice and helpful. The food was mixed. I had Tangerine shrimp. The shrimp was delicious, but the broccoli it was on was too undercooked, almost raw and difficult to chew. The crab Rangoon were terrible. There was no crab, even in the flavor. It tasted like someone stirred gravy or beef bouillon into cream cheese. My friend had lo mein and really liked it, but she also ordered vegetable dumplings and they tasted like boiled cabbage wrapped in thick dough. They were terrible. Overall I would say disappointing. I’m not planning on returning.

Ordered some food and was very disappointed they didn’t give no sauces plus rice had no flavor. The general chicken tasted off and it was chewy over cook old chicken. The spare ribs were so dried you can count every meatstrand and no suce as well

I wasn’t going to say anything because I didn’t want to affect the owner’s livelihood, BUT……in this case, it’s important.
After reading all of the RECENT (negative) comments I felt OBLIGATED to warn people about OUR experience. I ordered take-out for my family. We ALL got VIOLENTLY ill on their food. The (probably rancid) oil tasted OLD & BURNT which made the food taste HORRIBLY! There were VERY few vegetables in the VEGETABLE lo mien, and the broccoli looked like it was taken from another’s customer’s plate of leftovers from the dining room!!! I won’t go into the gross details, but we were ALL SO SICK, for HOURS, writhing in pain with stomach cramps and you know what. It was HORRIBLE.
As I said, I know my comments will affect their customer base, but when you get sick the way WE did, you all deserve to know there’s something TERRIBLY wrong with their ability to even operate a safe, restaurant.
Eat here at your own risk IMHO. Someone suggested they just close the place. That might not be a bad idea.
We knew the original owner’s very well and it’s such a shame. The food was phenomenal. These folks have DESTROYED the brand. I hope she forces them to change their name because a meal from HER Sun Sun Restaurant was AMAZING!! THIS is NOT Sun Sun Restaurant. I think I’ve made myself clear, eh?

This place used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant ever growing up ever since they got a new owner it’s all downhill from there. Food is no where near as good and employees just don’t have that same passion anymore. Really hurts to write this but I will not be giving my business to them anymore until things get changed back to normal. Really sad to see such a successful place in past year now crumble and will most likely go out of business now because of management.

My friends in South Windsor have been telling me about Sun Sun for the last year or so. I finally tried their food, and I’m thoroughly impressed! Not only was the food great, it’s affordable, and the tea is free too! Much needed yesterday during the rainy day! I’ll come back here again soon! I’m glad it was worth the drive for me from Hartford. Come eat here!

I ordered from here through Door Dash and was so pleased with the quality and taste of the food! The vegetables were not over cooked and the meat was not “mystery meat” that can be found sometimes. The combo plates are an amazing price for the amount of food you get. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for some good Chinese food!

There seems to be a clear consensus among patrons based on the many recent views; that Sun Sun is no longer Sun Sun. I’m not sure who now owns the restaurant, but the quality of the food is terrible. If the new owner and the cooks there don’t care about restoring the taste and quality of their food then just close the restaurant. The truth is, the food there sucks now. For example, the texture of the ribs was off last time I ordered and they tasted like some cleaning solution was mixed in. Just close the place already.

We got the two combo shrimp with mix veg with veg fried rice and the chicken and shrimp mix veg with veg fried rice. They both came with egg roll which was very good and filling.
The portion size were very good.
We Also orderd the chicken noodle soup and the hot and sour soup which was great too! This is a good portion size
Its a nice place for take out Chinese food.
The prices are also reasonable.
