most Chinese spots? (Maybe because I was pregnant who knows) We enjoyed the food and would definitely come back to try other items.
If you’re craving the kind of comforting food you grew up with, this is the spot. I personally give it 3 stars based on my own standards, but I would still recommend it, especially for those looking for authentic dim sum in a casual, familiar setting.
1. Don’t order sweet and sour pork. It looks good but the skin was thick with a little bit of meat inside.
2. Price was different from what was listed in menu.
On Thanksgiving Day, my family and I arrived there and waited roughly 10 mins for the host to notice us to be seated. Finally, when I noticed nobody paid us any attention I went up to the front desk and told the person that we wanted to dine in for a party of three. Therefore, we waited another additional 5-6 mins. While we waited we saw another family with a party of three who were Asian that were waiting as well. They came after us. They made no reservations like us.
After we were called to sit, the waiter took us in the back of a corner. I respectfully told him if we can move to another table because first, my mother was an elderly and we needed more leg room. There was no way all three of us would’ve been comfortable. So when I asked he completely shut us down rudely and said no repeatedly and then left. I was shocked because he did not give us a chance to explain.
Then immediately I saw the manager come in the room with that Asian family of three and sat them on a bigger and more spacious table. I caught his attention and told him if we can sit on the table next to them. And he said no because the other tables were reserved. Remind you, the place was not full capacity and that particular family did not reserve prior. Then the manager proceeded to tell us to sit us in another corner by the door.
Now at this point, I was extremely frustrated because we were being treated unfairly. So we finally decided to sit by the door to try it out. After the manager left, that same waiter was so mad because we moved to another table (after he did not want us to move). He slammed the plates in front of us and almost broke the tea cups. He slammed so hard that he made a mess and spelled all the tea in front of us. He did not bother cleaning it up. And then he proceeded to say something in his language and gave us a disturbing look.
My family and I were so upset we just took our things and left. We didn’t bother tasting anything because we weren’t sure if they would’ve put something in our food! Overall, I’ve never experienced this type of disgusting behavior at an Asian restaurant. They’re disgusting and their waiters have no manners. Absolutely, do not dine in or eat their food. They don’t know how to treat people of color with respect only their kind.
I don’t know how someone gets crab rangoons wrong, but these were just super oily and gross. I ordered the duck entree which cost about $28. I was served what looked like a loaf of bread. It turned out to be a heavily breaded “piece” of duck rib. By the time i finished pulling off the breading, I was left with a sorry looking piece of carcass which was less than half of what was originally served on my plate, and it did not taste at all good. I forgot which entree my friend ordered but neither of us took more than a few bites of our food. We had ordered a third entree which still hadn’t shown up by the time we finished our first entrees. Since the food was awful so far, we told our server not to bother with the third entree, our server looked at us in confusion….it turns out that he never placed that order. I ordered a soda water and received a ginger ale.
We left more than half of everything that we ordered except for the egg rolls.
Since we barely ate and were still hungry, we went to flaming grill buffet on broadway.
The food there was way better AND cheaper.
The dining area has a beautiful setup, that’s the one positive thing about my visit to this place
