The food here was AMAZING. We came across this restaurant and decided to try it out and I’m so happy we did. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun. The service was excellent. The drinks were delicious. And the food was incredible. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I had a great experience at Sun Island Bar-BQ & Jerk Supreme! The food was flavorful and fresh, but what really made my visit special was the excellent customer service. I want to give a special shoutout to a young lady named Melissa. She was very kind, professional, and attentive. She made sure my order was correct and made me feel welcomed from the moment I walked in. Her positive attitude and great energy truly stood out. It’s always nice to see someone who takes pride in their work and treats customers with care. Thank you, Praise, for the wonderful service! I’ll definitely be coming back.

Ordered here before and really enjoyed the food. Tried again today but this was a major disappointment. The oxtail is all bones and fat with a huge serving of rice. Not enough oxtail for the price in my opinion and the rice was not good.
The chicken is overcooked to the point where I can’t eat it. Also overfilled with rice to justify the price which I can’t say was worth it.
Mac and cheese and beef patty were great, no complaints there.
I might give it another shot but it’s hard to stomach given I enjoyed the $10 sides but not the $50+ meal. Staff was nice enough but can’t justify being this upset after paying for $60 meal.

I really hate to write this review but… I’ll never go back here again. I googled their name and sent into “THEIR WEBSITE” I was looking at the menu and clicked the order online button, I ordered oxtail tacos and a chicken (bone in) roti, 15 mintues later the restaurant called and we don’t have tacos and only boneless chicken for the roti but I would have to cancel the order with “Toast” their online ordering server and reorder what I wanted. I called Toast but they couldn’t cancel the order to refund me, only the resturant can confirm and cancel the order which makes sense. I called the resturant again was told to call the owner tomorrow. I could have called my cc company but anything under 50.00 they just give me my money back without disputing it but I didn’t think it was fair for the restaurant or toast to keep my money so I wanted the order canceled. Called the next day and they had tacos and meat so instead of going back and forth i asked if they could make the order i paid for yesterday. They said yes so I went in and a man was sitting at the bar, I asked if he was the owner he said no but another man walked in and i asked if he was the owner he said no he is! Wow, So I dont have time for games so I took my food and left.

They had a special displayed on a chalkboard at the entrance (curried lobster for $17.99). I ordered it and when I got the bill I was charged $30.00. The waitress then said the special wasn’t valid for that day. So why was it displayed? Quite a misleading and dishonest practice. Food overall was just ok. Disappointing meal. Not much flavor or seasoning generally. The fish (snapper) tasted fresh but the escovich was more sweet than spicy. The wings (honey jerk) were ok, but again not very spicy. Service was slow and bad. Disengaged waitress. Had to repeat every request. The restaurant decor is updated and pleasant. The food was much better when it was a buffet restaurant where they served food by weight. I spent over $150. They included gratuity in the check. I would have tipped less. I do not recommend anything here unless you like bland food.

I ordered a cow foot meal for takeout and was extremely disappointed. To be honest The meat was very tender ,but barely seasoned, and had a strange taste that made it hard to eat( it’s like some chemical or something) . It was far from the flavorful and tender dish I usually received . To make matters worse, when I called the restaurant to share my concerns, I received no assistance or even an apology. The lack of customer service was just as disappointing as the meal itself. I won’t be ordering that kind of meal from here again. Definitely not worth the money or the experience. I usually spend over $50 over there, and that experience threw me off because I don’t like wasting food to see I’m throwing away that much food when there’s people who out there struggling .

Well first off if she got my order right that would have been great, ordered curry chicken and got jerk chicken. One small yam n very dry rice. We will not be coming back here no more. In today’s world when u spend $45 on dinner it should be cooked correctly or say the order back to the customer so no mess ups like this.

The tropical long Island iced tea was excellent, the 1/2 jerk chicken was very good, had a nice heat, but not too spicy, and there was a nice hot jerk sauce on the side if you wanted more heat. The rice and beans were also very good, with a nice hint of coconut in the rice. The steamed cabbage also had a really good flavor. My friend loved the curry shrimp, steamed cabbage and potato salad. Husband had the jerk chicken, rice and beans plus the collard greens and said his dinner was outstanding. The service is relaxed, but the food comes out fairly quickly after ordering, and the staff is attentive but doesn’t hover, and we never felt rushed.

I highly recommend this restaurant it was such a great experience! The service was excellent, and the food was absolutely delicious, probably the best I’ve had in Burlington, New Jersey. The ambience is super cute and relaxed, even inside, with such a nicely designed space. I really enjoyed my meal, and their drinks were just as impressive. I’ll definitely be returning!

First and last time. Food was not good!!! My experience was horrible. Asked for a Pepsi, the soda had a light color to it. It was watered-down. The ginger ale was also too. Ordered codfish fritters, all you could taste was the corn meal and grease. The wings were honey jerk with no taste. The turkey wing meal came with one wing cut up into small pieces. I guess to make it look like you were given a decent amount. Also had a strange taste that I was not sure if it was from the bar-bq sauce or the meat itself. The menu did not tell you that you were order bar-bq wings. My side order of plantations were under cooked. Please make a note, if you dine in, 18% gratuity is added to your bill. Food was not worth the money and we had to fight the flies from trying to take our food.
