We stopped in for breakfast at Sun Diner and were thoroughly impressed. From the moment we walked in, the place had a great vibe, even though it was busy. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and stayed engaged with everyone despite the crowd, which really says a lot about their service.
As for the food, everything was excellent. I ordered the omelet, which was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. My daughter chose the pancakes, and they were light, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. My wife went with the breakfast burrito, and it was hearty, well-seasoned, and very satisfying. Every plate that came out looked great and tasted just as good.
The service truly stood out. Our server was attentive, personable, and made sure everything was taken care of without making us feel rushed, even while the restaurant was packed. It’s clear they take pride in both their food and their customer service.
Another big plus is the location. Sun Diner sits right next door to the Johnny Cash Museum, making it the perfect spot to grab breakfast before or after a visit. If you’re in the area, this is a must-stop. Great food, great service, and a fun Nashville experience all around. You won’t be disappointed.

If you’re looking for a great early morning breakfast spot in Nashville, Sun Diner is it! It has that classic old-school diner feel but with a fun, unique twist to the menu. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming — perfect for starting your day before Broadway gets busy.

We ordered the banana blueberry pancakes, and they were amazing — perfectly fluffy with this incredible cinnamon butter syrup that took them over the top. The make-your-own omelet was to die for, packed with fresh ingredients and cooked just right. Coffee was excellent too — strong, smooth, and exactly what you want in a diner.

The only downside is they don’t serve liquor, so no Bloody Marys in the morning. They do offer a few beers, but I’m not much of a beer person that early. Still, the food and service more than make up for it!

There was no wait when we arrived early, but it was getting pretty crowded by the time we left, so I definitely recommend going early if you can. Overall, such a great spot — highly recommend stopping by for breakfast when you’re in Nashville! ☕

I really wanted to visit an old-school diner during my short stay in the USA, and Sun Diner was perfect for that! It may not be the type of food I’d normally have for breakfast at home, but it was really tasty. Combined with the charming atmosphere, good coffee, and very friendly staff, I was very happy with my visit. It’s no surprise that you need to wait for a table starting around 9AM. All in all, it’s definitely worth visiting – an amazing experience if you’re visiting from abroad!

Food was great and experience was great too! It came with a bit of a learning curve, lol, as it was our first time there — there was no line at 9am on a Saturday, and we walked in and were greeted and instructed to wait on “the wall”. We were the only ones on the wall when we had gotten there, and after a few minutes, a couple had finished and had gotten up, so we sat down in their space. After a few minutes seated, we were “educated” that you’re not to sit until they clear the counter and invite you to sit there — so just learn from us, lol. Our service and waitress was great!

I am giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 because it has a cool vibe and my server was friendly. I give the good itself 0 stars. I had the breakfast tacos, they had zero flavor. I had to put hot sauce and ketchup on them to give it some flavor. I only had the one dish so I can’t speak on the other food but I do not recommend the breakfast tacos and likely won’t be back ti this establishment to try anything else.

Breakfast was really good, bacon was perfect! We got there at just the right time (about 9am) as place got packed with a constant flow of people the rest of the time we were there. Our server Lexie was fantastic, friendly and had control of everything goin on! Even though they got super busy, we didn’t feel pressured to eat quickly which was nice. Going for breakfast….go here!

Barley any wait, they get you in and out in a very reasonable and timely fashion, but more importantly, their French toast was literally the best I have ever had. Their scrambled eggs were delicious as well.

The pork belly breakfast tacos were delicious. The menu is small but on point. I did see a review that did mention limited meat options other than pork and I can confirm that is correct. But the pork belly is awesome! Service decor and food all five stars! The Johnny Cash museum is next door to boot

Traditional style American diner, in the centre of Nashville. Serves breakfast and lunch, with a Nineteen fifties vibe with matching decor, playing classic C&W songs. Food is served around three central counters, and was very tasty. Recommend the Chicken Waffles with maple syrup.Service was very friendly and efficient, with coffee refills provided without being asked for.

Well worth a visit.
