I’ve ate at dozens of sushi restaurants… this is absolutely the best. Beautiful environment, super good service, very friendly people, and there’s no words capable of describing how amazing I think the sushi is. I typically get the same rolls every time I go, but I’ve tried many others and they’re all wonderful. I HIGHLY recommend the amazing tuna roll. This is one of my all-time favorite restaurants, I’ll be eating here, as often as possible, for the foreseeable future. Also take-out is fantastic, however by no fault of their’s, the sushi can lose some of its coolness, which affects the flavor. Easy solution is just pop it in the fridge a few minutes and it will be exact same as when you eat inside the restaurant. 10/10 restaurant if you could give more than 5 stars, they deserve it.

Let me just say what a surprise how wonderful Sumo was. My family and I literally just left. It’s Sunday evening on Mother’s Day and we are out here visiting for my birthday week.

Elaine I believe her name was, was lovely! She was super kind, smiling, and took our order with so much politeness. As we told her what we wanted, we asked for her recommendation with the hibachi meals. We got steak and seafood combo with the noodles (her rec between rice and noodles). She was on the nail with the noodles , it was delicious. We also order sashimi dinner, dancing angel roll and fireball roll I believe. All was very satisfying.

For apps we got the yellowtail jalapeno, spicy tuna pizza, and soft blue crab tempura. Again no complaints.

Lastly as we finished our dinner, and Elaine checked in every now and then, we were stuffed and asked for a check. She a few mins later brought out this huge fried tempura ice cream cake? With happy birthday on the plate, a balloon and individually wrapped roses for myle and my mom. It was so unexpected and she came out singing. How delightful!! Later she even asked for a picture for her birthday wall. #feelingspecial #greatservice #greatfood

I really felt that she went over and beyond and what a hidden gem it was to cross. We will definitely come back to visit!!

Highly recommend this place. This small town sushi spot always exceeds my expectations. Good fresh fish, large portions, great presentation. The atmosphere was crisp, clean and calming. The staff was helpful, polite, and friendly.
*if you really like sushi, ask the chef to make you something they like. The chef specials are fantastic, but not always on the menu.

Finally, a place in this area that knows how to do sushi right! This spot is absolutely fantastic. The fish quality? Spot on—fresh, flavorful, and precisely prepared. You can tell they genuinely care about how every plate is presented, with a real respect for the craft and cuisine. None of that shortcut nonsense you find in other places; this team is doing it the right way.

The rolls are pure delight, packed with flavor and prepared with attention to every detail. And the staff? Honestly, they treat you like you’re a guest in their own home—warm, attentive, and eager to make sure every bite is spot on. It’s rare to find a local place with such quality, especially when so many others cut corners. But not here.

The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, adding to the experience, and it makes you want to come back time and time again. We’ve been here twice already, and as long as they keep up this level of quality, we’ll be coming back for more. Top marks!

Love the food at Sumo! We’re from Birdsboro and we’ll drive out of the way to come here because it’s so good. We’ve gotten the sumo spicy chicken bento box, shrimp tempura bento box, shrimp shumai, and several of the sushi rolls, and everything is always delicious and fresh. There hasn’t been anything on the menu that we’ve tried and haven’t liked yet. The employees are always so friendly too, and our orders are always 100% correct. Can’t recommend Sumo enough!

This place is unbelievable! This might be the best Japanese food I’ve ever had. It was so good we had to go back the next day for another meal. Everything we ordered was prepared and presented perfectly. The staff are friendly and helpful. The prices might be a little high, but this is still an excellent value considering the large portions and excellent quality.
I recommend the Nabeyaki Udon. The BBQ squid was also very good and not something that seems to be available at most similar restaurants.
