Not what i expected. There were a couple servers working that seemed unhappy and bothered there were even people there. Our waiter finally brought us water that tasted like it was from the toilet after we had sat there approximately 8-10 minutes. We ordered sodas and had to ask for it 3 times. There is also no kids size portions of anything. I ordered garlic noodles which in fact lacked garlic and the chicken tasted like it was frozen out of some cheap bag that was chewy in texture. Not impressed with the 80$ worth of food I paid for. The rolls were also super small, 8 paper thin slices for 17-18$ is crazy! I’ll never go back again with the rude service and their lack of quality for sushi.

Absolutely terrible service.. The waitress was rude, rude rude. We We’re getting a to go order because our mom was in the hospital. When she found out that our order was to go,She served all the people behind us so they could sit down before even taking our order. Then she told us 20 minutes, and it ended up being almost an hour. While we were waiting for our food, she proceeded to tell us that we needed to move from the front area because people look in the window and they will think that they were full. There were very few customers inside the restaurant at this time so I don’t understand what took so long. And I truly do not understand rude service.
This is very unfortunate because their food wasn’t that bad but because of their service, I will never go back!

I came on a Tuesday night and it took 45 minutes for me to get my food after ordering. Also, the waitress took my drink to give me a refill on my sprite and she just never came back with it. I had to drink the strong-tasting tap water instead. The waitress dropped off my check and then never picked it back up. The hostess had to come take care of me.
The food itself was ok at best. My nigiri had a strong fishy taste and was poorly constructed. I’ve legitimately had better from the grocery store.
Ultimately, I think they were unusually crowded, but I had a pretty miserable experience and I won’t be back.

What a great place! The service was amazing and so was the food. Quality sushi and interesting speciality rolls for a decent price! I got the Sumo and Fire dragon roll and it was super tasty. My cousin got the Grace roll and they made it into hearts! Our waitress was very attentive. Would definitely come back.

I brought my brother here for his birthday and his 1st time having sushi. What a great choice! Our server, Rocio, ensured we had the best experience. The sushi was very reasonably priced and great quality. The menu is extensive and even picky eaters will be able to find something here. Definitely worth the drive.

When we went there for lunch, the sushi was good. But the Ramen was nasty, what the heck type noodles are those. The Ramen broth (we got miso) was diluted Miso. The egg was hard-boiled, not that runny orange yolk you’d expect. The chicken katsu and the vegetables were fine.
But those noodles, where the heck did the owner get those from? The noodles tasted nasty; they were a weird conglomerate mass that had like a weird, mushy texture when you eat it. Gross.
I wanted my money back for at least one of the Ramen, the owner only agreed to 50% off of one of the Ramen orders. I think what was most insulting is him trying to tell me that those are “authentic Japanese noodles. And you should have mixed the noodles in the soup to make the broth taste better.” Yeah right…
The waiter was nice, but the owner seems to try to pass by garbage Ramen noodles as authentic to get more money.
If you want really good Ramen in Iowa city go to ‘Hokkaido Ramen House’.

It was graduation weekend in Iowa City. They sat us quickly and the service was great. We had egg rolls and pork gyoza for appetizers and both were tasty! The sauce that came with the egg rolls was a much-upraded version of sweet/sour sauce, plus it was spicy and was VERY GOOD. The gyoza was delicious. When it came to the sushi, we got 2 rolls with shrimp tempora in them. They were fine, but not great. The 3rd sushi roll we got was a dragon roll with yellowtail and tuna… again, good but not great. We got chicken and yakisoba noodles for the kids and it was AWESOME. It was a very large portion and the flavors really popped. I’d try this place again to see if other sushi rolls are better. And to have more apps!

The place was really nice and clean, serving was really good, and food were fantastic. The rolls were really delicious; it looked simple but it was really surprisingly tasty. The ramen was really good too, the soup base was rich, and if we didn’t eat a lot of food before the ramen, which we ordered just to try it out, we would’ve finished it.
The prices were just right. We could’ve tried other dishes but we were just passing by the area when we ate here. We will definitely come back and try other food on the menu.
