First time we been here was definitely a four star experience, we came here during afternoon when it wasn’t busy, we got our water 20 minutes after sat down, but the food was good.
However, we came back for the food last night, was pretty disappointed. They charged a dollar to go fee without letting customer know and the way they packed the food was bad. We don’t eat any ginger and wasabi, but they put them in the box so it was on our sushi roll. The soy sauce doesn’t have any taste either.
Will not recommend this restaurant at the moment
Update: so I think they actually read the reviews, and tired to improve. The sushi was box better this time and their ramen taste pretty good, they took out the to go fee, so we will definitely give another try next time.

*Update* Also, this is their Sushi Boat (option A) that my husband ordered for my birthday. It is HUGE! We ate all of it & loved every bit of it. Thank you so much for making my birthday memorable and yummy! Sumo Sushi is our go-to sushi spot.

For the money you can not beat this place. They have a 50%off all the time. We eat here every time we are in the area. Sometimes they are a little slow with service. As their was only one waitress and one cook, on Tuesday when we got here today. We had a party of 9 and ordered the boat C and 6 more rolls. So this takes some time to fix, but so worth it. They were delicious.

After looking online for a sushi restaurant between auburn-Folsom and Douglas I happened to find Sumo Sushi a tasteful decorative restaurant with Japanese style art work and 50% off sushi rolls. I met with my husband for lunch and it was our first time. We ordered two rolls with a hot tea and miso soup. Rolls were decent size and delicious. I have to mention the price was shocking to say the least due to our inflation crisis happening everywhere. We both were delightedly to have paid for a meal under $30 for two! Seems like anywhere you go for lunch nowadays you are certainly looking at $30+ highly recommended.

If you are looking for an amazing deal for sushi this is the spot, they have a 5 roll deal that has a delicious selection of 12+ rolls to choose from, I personally love to do there lunch bento and order a roll, the thunder fire is by far my favorite, it’s a spicy mix of poki on top of delicious sushi, there prices are very reasonable for a sushi restaurant, and the food has been prepared perfectly every time. I absolutely love sumo sushi

This is the best sushi place around and far better than the sushi place further down Sierra College Blvd, in Granite Bay, in every single category: Price, atmosphere, service and most importantly…The food!
I can never understand why this place isn’t packed, because it’s just a delightful place to get some sushi. Last night I had salmon sashimi and the price for both the quality and the quantity was insanely cheap. Value is important these days, and it definitely can be found here. Their rolls are always 50% off, which may sound gimmicky, but they are legitimately about half the price of their competitors and they’re fabulous. Hubby had the rainbow roll last night, and knocked it out! The service is pleasant and proficient, without exception.
Little tip for ya: the establishment next door has live music almost nightly on their patio, and you can get a window seat with a close up view. The bands and people watching are always pretty entertaining, and there’s no cover…
