The sushi was good and the portion sizes were just right not too big or too small.
But the service could be much better. Not all dishes were served, or some only arrived after several rounds. Some of the dishes we ordered never arrived at all.

This was our first time at Sumo, and we weren’t sure what to expect. We went in because we were in the mood for sushi, then found out they had all you can eat.
It’s a pretty simple concept. 5 rounds, 4 items per person.
They have options for everyone to enjoy and the food comes to your table before you finish taking a sip from your drink. We never waited for our food for longer than 5 minutes, or wait for our plates to be removed after we finished. The service at this place is excellent.
The food itself is really good, but after a few meals, it all starts to taste the same. Sweet. Unfortunately.
It’s all you can eat, Japanese cuisine at an affordable price with great service. It’s what you expect it to be.

I love Japanese cuisine, and I was quite happy to discover Sumo Markthal in Rotherham. My sushi and sashimi were nice and I enjoyed my saki. The service staff was quite efficient and pleasant. I had quite the pleasant overall experience.

I think the “all-you-can-eat” prices are fair for the quality of the food. Service was fast, employees were extremely helpful. The atmosphere was comfortable. There were a wide variety of dishes.
You can order 20 small dishes in total per person and you can do it in 5 rounds. We were a table of 4 people and we were completely stuffed after the round 3.

There are plenty of sushi places in the Market Hall and Sumo isn’t the best and it’s not the worst. They offer a range of hot and cold dishes with some nice nigiri options. I chose a selection of these with eel, salmon and other fishes which were good but not great.
Possibly they’re a bit better at hot dishes as we also had some chicken skewers, which were excellent, and a Japanese chicken curry. The latter wasn’t bad although the rice was dry rather than soft suggesting that it had been cooked for a while.
Still the service at Sumo was good and it’s a pretty restaurant inside. So it’s a nice place to visit if you’re looking for some easy food at an acceptable price.

Recommend all you can eat course, which consists of 5 rounds and 5 dishes per person per round.
There is choice from sushi, chicken, beef, other fish dishes and salads.
It was quite busy during Sunday afternoon, a reservation seems required also for lunch.

This restaurant got one of my favourites, it has a charming interior design, great cuisine and atmosphere.
All dishes I’ve tried were delicious.
Waiters are a bit busy and a lot of people are here at the lunch time.

I was expecting more since the restaurant was recommended by several people.
Their all-you-can-eat menu is nice and you really have lots of options to choose from during one and a half hours.
Most of the options were good, a few really good and other just ok or disappointing.
I had an issue at the end that was still in my time (like, 10 minutes remaining) I ordered just 3 additional pieces that never came. When I asked the waitress (who had just started working), she wasn’t really happy to check what could’ve happened and returned with no answer. Ok, I was quite full, paid (we were on 3) and left.
I’m not sure if it is worth the price, but it is an option when missing a wide variety of Japanese dishes.

Amazing place for a date,
All you can eat option is perfect, the thing I didnt get is we pay together each persoon a price 37€ , but we can only order 5 Times for 8 food.
if i come alone do i pay same price for 5 times 8 food?
Futher is perfect foods.
But many time we had busy table, waiter doesn’t clean ur table always.. that is a bit sad about the place.. everytime u should say it, in stead of they clean it..

All you can eat sushi and other Japanese/Asian dishes for a fixed price and time limit. As with other branches of this nationwide brand the food is always fresh and tasty, the service excellent and the drinks not expensive. Expect a large crowd but the food is delivered to your table really quickly. I don’t know how they manage it but they clearly do, and very well too. Highly recommended!!
