This was my first time eating from this restaurant. I was not happy. I did order curbside pickup. My food looked amazing. But it tasted horrible. No seasoning. I asked for my steak to be cooked medium and it was more medium rare. I had to cook the steak in a skillet on my stove just to finish cooking it and to add flavor. I paid $24 for that meal and it was not worth it for undercooked chewy ribeye steak. I also sautéed my veggies more to add flavor. There was no help for the fried rice. It was old. I asked for a salad and got a bowl of lettuce. I’m not sure if they was having a bad day or what but my food was not good. The togo server was polite. I didn’t call the restaurant.

Sumo always has friendly workers and fast service despite how busy they stay. The sushi is always delicious, we ordered the sampler appetizer which was the perfect amount of food before the sushi rolls came out. I think Sumo is the best Japanese restaurant in Jonesboro.

I was here on 11/26. Was in the area. Stopped for dinner. Food was excellent. Service was excellent. Maybe it’s just me being from the West Coast but they had fountain Mello Yello so that was a plus. The Jonesboro roll was definitely fire. If I’m in Jonesboro again, I will definitely stop by! Thanks!

I been coming to sumo offer never had a problem until today. First they Host was barley talking loudly so everyone can hear their names being called, I almost miss my table. Second the chef call out every one order and as soon, as he started cooking me and a white man the only ones at the table with ribeye and my order was before his. Instead of going in order of the ticket he skip me, and gave the man that order. Everyone else had steak. So now I got to wait on him to go to the back and get another ribeye. Third they waiter asked every one do they need refill and never once asked me. Even the manager (I think) asked everyone but me. Then lastly the waiter that never asked if I wanted a refill when it was time to pay the way she was going she started on the right and I’m one chair from them, she skipped right over me to she the people that was on the left of me and I was the last to check out. Paying almost 85 dollars just to be treat like my money was good enough but not my skin color.

Hopefully just an off night and not a sign of what to expect in the future. Food very bland. Asked for soy and teriyaki on my steak as it was about to be served with just butter and salt/pepper. Was given a small cup of each instead. Rice was very greasy. Service was horrible. Only saw the waitress three times in the hour I was there. To take my order, get a refill 5minutes in, then to bring my check. Me and everyone else at the table were waiting patiently for her return so we could leave. Everyone had food left on their plates, and out of 8 people, only one person took a to go box, asking for as much sauce as they could get.

We brought a large family group and used 2 chefs which were personable and friendly. The wait wasn’t as long as expected since we walked in. You can make a reservation online. No military or senior discount. They will make a special recognition for a birthday. They have daily and weekly specials.

I have eaten at this hibachi restaurant several times and it has always been good. They have typical hibachi dishes and sushi. They also have a large bar, alcoholic drinks, and private rooms you can rent. They offer grills, where a chef cooks your meal in front of you or table service. Good restaurant and I will visit again.

First time visiting this location with a friend and it was amazing! We were seated quickly although the lobby was picking up rapidly. We sat at the grill and had the most amazing cook! Super entertaining and accommodating. The lunch portion was HUGE so I could only imagine how big dinner is. I’d definitely return.
