Honestly this place was pretty bad. The atmosphere kinda sucks. Definitely no money being put into it. Feels dirty, and thrown together. Tv is sitting so low to the ground you can’t see half of it, only one I saw in the place. Building dirty outside. Card/bill holders are held together by clear tape. The waitress dropped a plate into my buddies lap. No problem that she made a mistake, we are all human, and we don’t blame her one bit. But surely you’d expect some sort of discount. They still charged him full price after dropping a meal in his lap and had him waiting another 10minutes for the replacement, which he didn’t finish. The worst part by far is the food. Worst meal I’ve had in a while. Tough chicken, over cooked rice, and under cooked vegetables. It is theft to be charging prices like all the other hibachi places, but serving us less than fast food worthy food. Manager tried urging us to the hibachi side next time. It shouldn’t matter. Our food was terrible. Picture is showing how much food I paid for and didn’t eat. Would not recommend. Will not be back.

It’s 2:40 PM on Saturday, August 30th, 2025. We just pulled out of our parking spot here at SUMO and while I have always been impressed with the food here, today I cannot say that and at $82.89 after tax for two people — I left a $10 tip, although I should’ve not for a few reasons.
1.) Our fried rice the was barely fried and lacked the flavor it has always had before. Our chef kept asking us, “How is the rice? Is it good?! ”, to which I replied less than honestly that it was ok. It tasted like plain ol’ white rice and yet charged for fried rice.
2.) The lobster for my H24 was impossible to chew through. It was like rubber. From the color of the lobster tail, it didn’t look healthy before being processed for sale. The shrimp could’ve been cooked a bit longer and flavored much better.
3.) Because it was just my wife and I at the hibachi alone, I feel the Chef didn’t immerse himself into the full experience that I’ve had in the past when dining their previously.

Server was eating at the bar when I came in. Since he was eating, I was not greeted. This was my first time so I wasn’t sure the process without being greeted. I placed an online order for to go but it only lets you pay when you get there and the tax amount is different when you get there and pay. They did not give me the white rice that comes with my meal because I paid for side of noodles that was a separate charge not a substitution. The noodles are not edible. Salad was not fresh, crisp, or green. The only item that is edible is the salmon. $18.62 for a lunch deal is a lot just to be able to eat the meat item.

The owner came over finally to refill our empty Cokes and poured half into mine and the other half into my sister’s to share.. into our water down iced drink. She even asked for a full one and he said $10.. in which she jokingly replied I only have $2. He never returned and we had to ask the chef for an actual Coke refill. The hibachi chef had no clue what anybody ordered and kept asking over and over. He ended up giving most of my shrimp in which I was the only person who ordered it, to many other people so they can try some. But he didn’t give me any of other people’s chicken etc. he tossed the egg in the air and completely missed everybody’s mouth and even got my mom right in the eye and she had trouble seeing for the rest of the session. Extremely loud annoying babies crying at the station, and it was very congested and extremely loud especially when he was clanking his utensils all over the place, in the back corner. He didn’t even do any tricks or anything impressive. The food was okay but the experience was a one star. I was thinking we were going to musachis and forgot about this place in Edmond that I used to go to when I used to work up the street a decade ago. I stopped going here then at lunch and now I’ll never come back for dinner.

Pros:
1. DELISH! The food is fantastic and large portions!
2. We were waited on quickly, food was fast, fresh.
3. Wait staff and chef outstanding, friendly, patient and welcoming.
Cons: Coming in from the outside can be a bit misleading, it would be amazing if they cleaned up the outside a bit.
*We are very satisfied regulars that look forward to wonderful food and service each time!

Went there for a birthday celebration and everyone had a great time. Service was good, they have a huge menu, and plenty of variety for the sushi lover’s. We had such a large group we had a variety of sushi ordered and we also did the Hibachi. Food overall was excellent. The only negative was the chef did not have enough food. He had to go back and forth several times to get more steak, shrimp, etc., causing everyone to not eating together. The waiter took all of our orders but the chef did not get/bring enough on his cart. It all got settled and fixed but some of us were done eating while others had just started. Highly recommend for sushi, dinning in and great Hibachi. Great place to take for a special occasion.

We visited Sumo Steak House for the first time this month to celebrate my son’s birthday and had an awesome experience! Our chef was entertaining and fun and the food was amazing. We did spend over $100 for three people but we also ordered sushi. Definitely worth checking out for the delicious food and awesome experience alone!

So the place was empty so we had all the space we needed … hibachi was excellent but everything g else was pretty bad … I asked for a knife and they brought me a plastic one! I wouldn’t recommend!
