The food was delicious. I especially liked how there was a Miso soup and a small salad with my Sushi combo , the soup had wonderful flavors in it and all the sushi was like eating from the great seas . Sumo Hibachi & Sushi
Bring so great Flavor to the Yakima Valley.

Sushi was nice. Service not what I expected. Server was curt, when I asked what the daily special was, I was directed to go take a photo of the sandwich board displayed at the entry. I was never checked on, a different Server came after a long wait to bring my bill.

Went for happy hour and was VERY pleased with the prices as well as the quality. The space was very well kept and clean. I appreciated the tall ceilings and the cute and simple decor. It was something I would not have expected in Yakima. The sushi was high quality in my opinion and came out quick. As a sushi connoisseur I would go back in a heart beat. No roll was left behind.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (1,000-Star Experience)

Sumo Hibachi & Sushi is hands-down one of the best dining experiences in Yakima—no exaggeration. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is electric but welcoming. It’s cool, clean, lively, and immediately makes you feel comfortable, like you’re walking into a place that knows what it’s doing.

The food? Unreal. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. You can tell they don’t cut corners—each bite feels intentional and high quality. What really blew me away was how fast the service was without ever feeling rushed. Food came out hot, fresh, and exactly how it should be.

The service takes this place to another level. Every staff member treats you like family—genuinely friendly, attentive, and happy to be there. You don’t feel like “just another table”; you feel welcomed and taken care of. That kind of energy is rare.

Overall, Sumo Hibachi & Sushi delivers on everything: food, speed, atmosphere, and service. If I could give it 1,000 stars, I would—this is the kind of place you keep coming back to and proudly recommend to everyone. Yakima is lucky to have this spot. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The robots are here but don’t be scared they are not making the food yet, just moving it from the back to the front desk.
The human chefs knocked the food out of this world. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The price was perfect and the amount of food you get is enough for some left overs which is just as amazing as the first serving. Highly recommend 🙂

Food and atmosphere were phenomenal at at affordable pricing when .

For me and spouse dinner date we were greeted by two of the staff a very welcoming hello. Especially since it was our first time . There was plenty of seating , we were amongst 3 other sets of diners .

We enjoyed the aesthetic of the place and the skyline raftor is mesmerizing. We were ready after 5 minutes of sitting down . Waited several minutes then a staff bus a table then got the folks that enter after us there order in . We waited little bit longer and got eye contact with two staff . We didn’t inquiry since we didn’t want to interrupt since they seemed busy .

After 15-20 minutes or so we were contemplating of leaving since 2 more sets of groups came in. Then finally the gentleman came to our table to get our order . We were famished so we tried to rush through the ordering process then he said to us “you guys need more time?” so we said everything we wanted including the appetizer and dessert and entrees.

After I notice the two sets of new folks walked in after us ,I timed the the time it took for waiter to get to the other two groups roughly 7-8 mins after their were seated. Was curious if they were gonna waited before us .

Everything after that was great got the appetizer and sake.

We enjoyed each other company talking about plans for the future enjoying the rest of the atmosphere like the neko cat robot server going up and down the walkway.

I had the Spider man meal a decently spicy mix of avocado with spicy tuna and soft shell crab . A great balance of all flavors especially when you dip in the soy sauce .

The chicken kiraage magnificent soft texture fried chicken .

Our expectation were that the serving size was gonna be lacking and won’t fill us up . Boy we were wrong the amount of food filled us to the tipping point. We were at a point to ask for a box to go . Luckily we were able to finish our meals.

Plenty of choices from sushi to hot food. Nicely decorated with friendly staff. Hugh fried rice portion will solve any super hungry kids. Avoid the salmon skin salad as it comes in tiny portion of salmon skill, and too heavy on the dressing.

We were in Yakima looking for a place to eat and I saw this place and googled it and it had mostly four star reviews. So we decided to take a chance and have some sushi and other dishes. Looks like the place is pretty short staffed so it took a while to get full service at the bar and other people came in after us wondered if anyone was serving them at the bar. My lady had the eel dish and I had a fried rice dish with salmon and a charasi bowl. I’ve eaten sushi and sashimi at various places across the country and around the world and maybe Yakima is not a good place to have such a dish. Hard to put a finger on it but the fish just did not seem as fresh and as good as I’ve had in other places.
