Milk Tea is standard and does the job. The grass jelly was surprisingly really good though. I’d recommend the Lunaria Milk Tea! (boba was hard though… so maybe pass on that)
The outdoor area is ideal to hangout and parking is sufficient. Many people study inside with plentiful tables and booths. However, it seemed really warm inside. I’d prefer the outdoor area!
I had:
1. Sesame miso crunch salad w popcorn chicken
2. Sesame miso crunch salad w crispy tofu
3. Uji matcha latte
4. Aloha tea w basil seeds
5. Remember me w grass jelly
Compared to the first time we came, we were disappointed in the service and quality of everything.
The workers were not welcoming nor kind at all. We were ready to order and standing at the register, but the workers didn’t say a word to greet us. We didn’t want to seem pushy or demanding so we waited for them to start off with something like, “How can I take your order” or “I can take your order whenever you’re ready”, but they didn’t. Both sides were just standing there waiting for the other person to say something first before my sister finally made the first move •_•
They were a lot more generous with the toppings the last time I came. Considering they charge $1 ($1.06 with tax), it’s not worth it since other places charge less and give you way more boba.
We won’t be be returning anytime soon.
I think it does well because the hours are 1pm-1am. People like to come here to study and hang out. It’s not that big inside but it also has seating in the patio.
There’s a stage for live piano performance on Fridays and Saturdays from 9-11pm.
I got an Earl grey black milk tea called Moonlight. I usually decline boba but honey boba and grass jelly was included in the $6 drink and it was a tall 24oz cup.
Black tea will keep me up for sure and the honey boba was a mushy soft chewy texture. I didn’t adjust sweetness and it was perfect as well as ice.
My only complaint was that after I paid and walked out, I saw on the tv screen the ad for BOGO M-F from 1pm-5pm on milk and fresh tea where your second drink is $2. I would have appreciated if the staff told me. At least try to upsell! It is listed on the menu, but clearly, I overlooked that and I’m sure many others have too.
The parking lot is tiny and street parking is not close. It’s located at the corner of Lampson and Euclid. The street parking is around residential neighborhoods. Night time is a popular hang out spot for students.
Although there was nothing wrong with quality and taste of my drink, there are so many tea shops in OC that I wouldn’t come back. Especially when a parking spot is not guaranteed and the BOGO was not clearly advertised.
Great place to study though there are seldom any prime study spot open inside, though plenty of outdoor seating
