This is a very cute family owned place. Amazing views of the ocean from the patio and excellent service. It’s BYOB! The ingredients are fresh and all the dishes are decent. My problem, is that none of the dishes stood out and nobody liked deserts. So much potential here and I truly wish they live up to it.

My husband and I came in recently for a romantic date night and Summer Salt sure did not disappoint! We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food! It was so special. The owner, Heather came out and talked with us and gave us suggestions on which mains to pick based on our preferences and explained all the dishes so perfectly. She treated us like we were the only customers giving us a lot of time and attention, making us feel special. Her husband- the chef really uses the freshest ingredients and pairs the flavors together so well! EVERYTHING was so good! We especially enjoyed the summer fritter, tomato salad, peach and burrata! We also loved our mains “barnegat light fresh catch” which was sting ray and the “severino radiatori” which was crab pasta with a tomato cream sauce. So tasty! Our dessert favorite was the panna cotta (with hints of corn and basil flavoring, just trust me!) but the pistachio brownie was also really good as well, we wish we could have had the speckled berry cake too! We wish we could have experienced all the different menus this summer had to offer but next year we will be back for more! We LOVE LOVE LOVED, our experience here! It is a wonderful and unique restaurant with a gorgeous view while you dine! We recommend eating on the outdoor porch for the full boardwalk beach side dining effect!

I had the vegan tasting menu and it was unreal. One of the best vegan restaurant experiences I have ever had. All of the vegan options were super similar to the regular menu so it was fun to enjoy all of the courses with others! The peaches and burrata* (dairy free and made from whole ingredients) was unreal. I asked them for the recipe after to make at home. Honestly everything was incredible and I can’t wait to go back.
Love a place that embraces seasonal recipes with to farm to table ingredients.

Connor and Heather have done it again; turning amazing fresh local ingredients into world class meals. Elegant and refined yet somehow reminiscent of grandma’s cooking. They have curated the most amazing dinner experience, everything from the comfy intimate dining areas to the employees who clearly love what they are doing. Each year, the experience never fails to impress, and I’m consistently mesmerized by the creativity, finesse, and seasonal storytelling woven into the menu. This summer’s first theme, Bloom (running June 18 through July 21), beautifully celebrates the essence of the season—fresh, vibrant, and full of life.
We began our meal with a trio of small bites: fried artichoke, summer squash, and a delicate parmesan crisp potato. The artichoke stole the show for me, perfectly crisped on the outside, tender within, and bursting with flavor that lingered delightfully on the palate.
The second course offered a medley of garden-inspired dishes, including greens with lump crab, a bloom salad brimming with floral notes, and roasted turnips with just the right balance of earthiness and sweetness. Each ingredient tasted incredibly fresh, sourced from local farms and prepared with thoughtful simplicity.
For the main course, we shared the linguine & clams, golden tilefish, and strip steak—each dish showcasing its own unique character. The linguine was light and briny, kissed with the ocean’s essence. The golden tilefish was tender and buttery. And the strip steak—cooked to perfection—was hearty, well-seasoned, and accompanied by flavorful sides that tied the entire dish together.

We had dinner at Summer Salt to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary and we couldn’t have been happier. The entire experience was wonderful. The food was incredible and our waiter, Aidan, was awesome, very personable, knowledgeable about the food and very attentive! He even brought us a taste of the entree we didn’t select for free. We liked the small plates for sharing – it gives you the opportunity to sample a lot of great flavors. I couldn’t believe that our menus were even custom printed with our names and happy anniversary – a special keepsake. Looking forward to going back. I think we might make Summer Salt our anniversary tradition. Thank you!

Summer Salt is our favorite spot to eat down the shore. There is nothing better than sitting on the dunes and eating amazing dishes. The staff is incredible and flexible with any food allergies in the group. We love that the menu changes with the season of locally-sourced foods.
