I love this spot because it’s lowkey & intimate. The menu is creative without being overcomplicated and the prices are very reasonable. The staff is incredibly friendly.
What we ordered:
Chicken & Waffle Sliders ($17) – it’s more like kids chicken tenders. Nothing fancy. Soft waffles. Cajun syrup isn’t too sweet or too spicy.
Tres Leche French Toast ($16) – amazing when fresh.
Mangu Sliders ($16) – ordered mine without egg). salt and pepper on the table.
Drinks:
Morir Soñando – $8
Hot water with lemon – complimentary
A few helpful things to know:
• BYOB (they do charge a corking fee)
• Free street parking nearby
• Local spot, on a corner ️
• Accessible and easy to navigate ♿
Small spot. Call to check availability on busy days.
They’ve improved their menu throughout the years (it was never bad, just keeps getting better)! They’ll provide an ice bucket if your drink needs to be chilled. They decorate for holidays. You could kind of see the cooks working.
I recommend the breakfast board if you’re sharing. The grilled cheese with tomato soup is a favorite (not photographed here but there’s a video on my Instagram, @bigbackbuffet). & all of their beverages are delicious.
Food wise I had ordered the chicken and waffle. The chicken was overcooked that made the fried layer super thick. The waffle was okay. The kid’s pancake with whip cream was decent.
The staff members were really friendly. The food took some time to come out. They had also forgot to bring the tea to the table. Some minor lapses but overall they had decent service.
The decor is vibrant and flowery. It’s open kitchen so you can see what’s going on. Everyone is nice and friendly. Very attentive.
My egg Benedict is great. Poached eggs are just right. Potatoes are seasoned nicely. Kids menu silver dollar pancakes are appealing and colorful with fruits and whipped cream.
Lovely restaurant for family or friends hangout.
The mangu sliders are next level—rich, savory, and perfectly balanced. The grilled cheese with tomato soup is pure comfort food that hits the spot and makes you crave another bite.
I also tried the meat omelette, and it was packed with flavor and generously portioned.
Overall, it’s a standout brunch spot that I’ll definitely return to. Highly recommended!
There is no better way to celebrate the arrival of spring than with brunch. It is that time of day when one wants to turn a typical weekend into a Funday, sip a mimosa or delish coffee, or go on a day date, but more importantly, it’s not when to go, but where.
Located at the intersections of Summer and Autumn in Lodi, this hidden gem has been open for 4 years. My partner and I decided on a repeat performance as our first visit was amazing. The reservation was easily made by calling Summer and Autumn Cafe for Saturday’s brunch.
Upon arrival at this cozy, comfortable, lively BYOB establishment decorated in its spring colors, we were warmly greeted by the staff and got seated immediately by the window. Outdoor dining is available during pleasant weather. Private event spaces are available.
Their menu is retrievable by scanning the QR code with many great options for breakfast, lunch, or brunch on weekends.
We decided on the Meat Lovers Omelette served with a side salad as well as the Avo Toast and a side of Bistro Fries.
The food remained plated beautifully and tasted great using local ingredients. Portions were just right. The staff was pleasant, welcoming, and accommodating. Our server was Chastity. Bill, the owner, is nothing short of a visionary, and one can tell he loves what he does. The price was comparable to the area.
We had another great dining experience, which we continue to recommend.
