Went to this Japanese restaurant and was able to book a table for 10 persons previous day. Food was good and atmosphere was nice too. It was packed when we got there. Had only few servers so food and drinks were slower but service still good and managed well.

Absolutely loved our experience at Suminato. The atmosphere is calm and elegant, perfect for a relaxed meal. The service was attentive and genuinely friendly without being overbearing. Every dish was beautifully presented and tasted incredibly fresh, especially the sushi and sashimi. You can really tell a lot of care goes into both the ingredients and the preparation. A great spot for both casual dining and special occasions, will definitely be coming back.

Superb food, both visually and taste. Impeccable service and value for money. Definitely a favourite for the cuisine. It’s very busy, so book ahead especially if you are going for a special occasion.

Celebrated my anniversary here and it was such an amazing experience. Service was lovely and food was exceptional. Did the $65 chef recommend banquet and left feeling happily satisfied and full. Highlights were the melt in your mouth shashimi, extremely tender lamb cutlets and fresh flavourful sushi rolls. So many drink options to choose from aswell. Atmosphere was beautiful and price was reasonable for what you received. Would absolutely recommend!!

Great sushi place, my favourite sushi place in Hobart. Great atmosphere and has amazing seating for big groups, if you have a big group and you book ahead of time, you can get a private room. It’s great!

Had an amazing dinner at Suminato Japanese Restaurant! We shared 4 dishes, soft shell tempura crab, salmon cream croquettes, vegetable tempura sushi & deep fried eggplant. Every dish was fresh & full of flavour & zing. Service was excellent! Well worth checking out this little gem.

We weren’t expecting that quantity of food from the chef’s banquet, but was really really good! We enjoyed a lot and if we come back to Tasmania, we’ll be back for sure!

A very nice Japanese restaurant. Knowledgeable staff about what is vegan and vegetarian. Very nice decoration. Could have more vegetarian options as some dishes would be easily adaptable. We ordered tempura, udon and eggplant and tofu. All were great. Also ordered the house sake. Really enjoyed it.

arrived early on a sat night and managed to get a table for 6. sushi rolls, sashimi and esp the tempura were all well done. grilled scallops a must. the dons were good, maybe too much sauced, beef sukiyaki was well stocked but beef over cooked. all in all, pretty good meal all round. great drinks choices, esp sake.
