To be fair I wasn’t expecting much going to a sushi place in the little Carson City. Much to my surprise it was amazing.
I would nearly go to say the best variety and quality sushi I’ve ever had.
Thanks to Brooke and Sarah for the service and the chef’s for the great meal.
I’ll be back and definitely recommend it to anyone to try it you haven’t already.

We went this Saturday and overall the food was good. We had a good start with the appetizers, and the sushi itself was fresh and tasty. Our first order arrived, but after that it took quite a while. We waited about 30 minutes for the next round of food to arrive.
Saturday didn’t seem like the best day to visit because the restaurant was extremely busy. It felt like they kept taking in more customers than they could handle. A few of the items we marked on the order sheet never made it to our table, and when we followed up, it seemed like some orders were forgotten. I also ordered a dessert that never came.
I understand there was a large volume of customers, and I’m patient about that, but customer satisfaction is just as important as profit. It might be better not to take on more guests if the staff is already overwhelmed.
That said, the food was still good, and I would consider coming back on a less busy day.

I don’t leave reviews often, but I needed to acknowledge this place!
My wife and choose the all you can eat for $40 each. There was a large variety of options and we wanted to try as many as possible.
They were very patient with us, and let us know we could do multiple rounds of sushi. If you order more than you can eat you pay the difference.
We especially liked the Pretty Lady and the King Kong.
Excellent susi place with very friendly passionate staff. We are visiting from Portland Oregon otherwise we would definitely come back!

This is easily the best sushi in Northern Nevada! The servings are more than ample, the food quality is excellent, and there’s not any fishy flavor in anything that you order. It all just tastes great.

Service is top notch and you can tell the employees love working there. What a great find on this blustery winter evening.
Update July 2025: since my first visit, I have been telling my friends that they must come with me and try the best sushi in Nevada. And so I brought them with me this time. We all agreed it was the most fantastic sushi we’ve ever had. I think this might be the finest sushi restaurant I’ll ever go to. I can’t wait to come back and show more friends this amazing place. I just hope they’ll forgive me for ruining every other sushi restaurant they’ve ever been to, because nothing will ever compare to Sumi Sushi!

We love Sushi, thought we could give it a try. Yeah, if you have been to fresh quality Sushi, you will be disappointed.
1st off, the main waitress had no filter. During our visits she was having a conversation with another waitress about trash trucks and dumpsters outside the restaurant.
2nd, please make sure you smell your Sushi before eating it. Sushi should not have a spongy feel.

I’ve eaten their several times and the service has always been a little slow. The food is good.The portions got better at one point.But the last time I was there, the portion between the fish and the rice was off very thin piece of fish with large ball of rice must have been a new shef. Extremely expensive compared to other sushi spots in town especially with thin slices of fish with a large balls of rice.

Tried out Sumi Sushi recently and had an awesome experience. The sushi was fresh and super well-made — you can tell the chefs know what they’re doing. Everything we ordered came out looking great and tasted even better.
Shoutout to Sarah, who was both the manager and our server. She was super friendly, attentive, and really made us feel welcome. The whole vibe of the place was chill and comfortable, but the service and food were seriously top notch.

Best sushi I have had in Northern Nevada…… actually the BEST I have ever had! The staff is amazing and attentive! The fish is soo fresh and the rolls are very unique, they let you customize anything to your liking! Sarah and Jolie were fantastic and definitely will be back again and again and again!!
