We had the Lia’s rolls (delicious veggie spring roll) and got 2 soups. Portions are huge ! One soup enough for two. So full of flavor and clearly all very fresh. Delicious home cooked meal feeling randomly in steamboat.
Couple points – food is very tasty and can be spicy with a nice heat burn not unlike true Cajun cuisine. Veggies are flash cooked al dente (can be surprising for some). Prices are like everything in steamboat (just as pricey as a single $5.50 taco!!).
We would recommend this place wholeheartedly for being different and unique and sometimes that’s all it takes in a sea of pubs and tacos Apres ski! Will be back when we return to steamboat!
We had a couple side dish the martabak was not too bad just a little too much onion and spring onions. The satay was a let down coming from indonesian.. Thai skewer chicken and peanut sauce might taste better. Then my fish curry (ikan gulai) arrived was a a total let down as well as it was a couple pieces of fish fillet which cos prolly $12 at any grocery area cooked in a thick curry sauce with a few long beans.. costing $36++. My husband’s laksa arrived, light res coconut gravy whi h surprisingly tasted more liked gado gado peanut sauce more than curry laksa gravy.
Only thing worth a little comfort is an Indonesian restaurant served some pretty good purple haze sake..lol. furthermore Then don’t have soda pops! It was a very expensive dinner costing $120 for 2.
Coming from SEA we definitely have higher expectations yet miserably failed yet again.
The waiting time can be long. BUT, I PROMISE you it worth. They do put efforts on their cooking and good foods take time.
The person that takes the orders is a really nice guy.
When we opened our boxes in our hotel room, we ate the dumplings were about average, and the sauce was pretty tasty. That is the only correct part of our order. The Panang Chicken Curry (ordered mild) was so incredibly spicy that my son threw it up on the second bite.
The Pad Thai was basically congealed rice spaghetti noodles, no Pad Thai sauce, burnt chicken on one side, and undercooked on the other. Couldn’t eat it. So, we basically threw away $47 and when we called to make a comment, we were advised by the very nice guy that the owner wouldn’t do anything about it.
Don’t go, really, do not go here.
