My boyfriend and I visited Sum Bar yesterday. We had a 5:00 reservation, and upon arrival the hostess was very friendly! She showed us to our tables and gave us our menu and told us our waitress would be over soon. Our water glasses were filled and then our waitress came. She was very helpful during the ordering process. The cocktail I ordered was delicious, and so was the beer my boyfriend ordered!

Managed to get reservations for dinner on Sunday. We’ve had some menu items before, like the green beans and the pork dumplings, through some of the events that sum bar has done with Fireforge. Those were great and the food this time was no different. We split the char siu, siu mai, gai lan, and cucumber salad. Everything was reasonably portioned and priced, perfect to get a couple things and split with another. They had a unique cocktail menu that we didn’t explore (chose sake instead) but are looking forward to going back to try some! The atmosphere is clean and modern – fairly small inside area, so it is a bit intimate and could get noisy.

I literally did a dance when I bit into their Bok choy and pork dumpling. I kinda felt like that rat (remy) from Ratatouille; there were music notes (or flavor notes) playing the most beautiful song in my mouth. Sum Bar was absolutely amazing and it was absolutely worth the wait. Everyone was as kind and as charming/funny as could be (especially the owner, who went around asking everyone about their meal). I’ll be dreaming about my next visit.

If you are in Greenville or even just passing through you have to make a stop @sum.bar.gvl ! We specifically made sure for our summer vacation we did our first day in Greenville to try this place out and it didn’t disappoint!

We really enjoyed our food at Sum Bar. It hasn’t been open for too long, but I’m always searching for new places to try. The dumplings were delicious and I loved their take on rangoons. Would recommend for a fun date night!

My husband and I enjoyed this wonderful food offering in downtown Greenville, South Carolina before seeing a show at Centre Stage. The staff are all delightful. We shared approximately seven different items from the menu, and each was totally excellent. The flavors are inspired.

What can I say about Sum Bar?! The food was incredible! The service was fantastic! We ended up making our reservations about 3 weeks ago, and Im so glad we did. The deconstructed crab rangoon was amazing, but those Char Siu Pork Baos stole the show. We ended up getting 3 orders of those. We ordered everything off the menu besides the sesame balls and the desserts. The dumplings were so delicious, and I’m a huge fan of the shrimp toast. All 4 of us enjoyed the meal. Even with a short wait for our table, the host offered his sincere apologies and brought us 4 complementary shots of Yuzu sake. They even brought us two egg tarts on the house towards the end. We will definitely be back. It’s an amazing restaurant, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for your business!

Delicious, can’t say enough about the authentic flavors of the food. Had the dumplings, green beans, char sui pork, cucumber salad and sesame balls. Everything was excellent, served when ready so the meal comes out in stages, but this is how it was in China. The sauces were excellent, the customer salad was sweet and hot and just refreshing. The green beans were the star followed by the pork with the five spice sauce….we will be back. This is a jewel that can’t be missed.
