We really like this place! All of the food tastes fresh and has great flavor. We came right before the dinner rush and were seated immediately, but the whole place was full by the time we got our food. It’s popular for a good reason! We ordered chicken kebab platter and lamb kebab platter for pickup. The restaurant was so pretty and super clean.
The food tasted amazing but we were disappointed with the quantity of the meat given. The platter was full of rice but only one skewer of meat was given. It tasted amazing and authentic, was full of flavor as well, but for ~$20 a plate you would expect a lager quantity. I also would have liked some sauce with it but overall the food tasted good!

Wow… that Bulgar Wheat Pilaf is transcendental. The chicken is intensely savory and delicious. Kunefe? First time for me with that dish… I had no Idea Mozzarella could be dessert. Turkish coffee in a perfect little cup. Top Notch. Best Turkish Food I have ever had. Even the little side Turkish salad was tantalizing. Good Job guys.

We had the hummus casserole and dolma appetizers. Both were very tasty but a little on the small side. Probably best that no more than two people share. The shrimp platter was savory goodness but the were tiny shrimp. It didn’t detract from the flavors though. The chicken kebab was simple but tasty. The lamb kebab was seasoned well and fairly tender. Overall we definitely recommend Sultan Kebab!

Food is delicious. Wife had the chicken “sandwich”, really a super-sized wrap stuffed with cheese & veggies plus Tatziki sauce and two sides beans & their special rice which was yum with bits of cucumber, tomato & more plus the tasty Turkish spices. My ground meat kabob platter was less spectacular but still very nice with a salad, white rice (disappointing only because of the rice my wife had), hummis & bread. To drink I highly recommend their Hot Pomegranate Tea. We will return here in 2 weeks which is the next time we will be in town!

Pretty good Turkish food. Dishes are typical, nothing too impressive. Cuisine is fairly authentic for Turkish restaurant here (especially compared to Otto). Outdoor seating is very pleasant. Clean bathrooms. Servers can be a little dry. A mainstay of Cville’s Turkish community. Bonus points for beet juice. Lahmacun (Turkish pizza) is good for takeout.

We enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant when we went. It was our first time trying Turkish delicacy, so we went in with unknown thoughts. The restaurant was clean and had ample seating with a few larger tables for bigger parties. There was outdoor seating. Although the menu did not have pictures of all the food, if you go online to their menu on their website, you can find pictures of most of their menu alongside the name of the item. Our waitress was nice and attentive but not intrusive. Everything was presented well and arrived quickly after ordering.
We ordered the Cacik, Grilled Halloumi Cheese, Chicken & Vermicelli Soup, Iskender Kebab Platter, Adana Kebab Platter, Turkish Delight, and a glass of Apricot Juice. The Cacik is basically Tzatziki and outside of the pita you get with it, we found dipping the Grilled Halloumi Cheese in it was a great pairing. The cheese is very salty and so the Cacik served as a great balance in our opinion. The flavors on the Adana and Iskender Kebabs were seasoned well. The Turkish delights were a favored dish of the night and while we did not get the coffee with it, it is served with Turkish coffee. Note: Their Turkish delights have some form of nut in it if you are allergic you may want to ask the specific kind. The Apricot Juice was smooth but very potent. You’ll probably need some water alongside it if that’s not your preference.
Would go back and recommend it to anyone in the area!

If you’re ever in the Charlottesville area and are looking for a place to eat, look no further because Sultan Kebab is a must. This is easily the best place I’ve gone to eat. Their meat is cooked well and full of flavor. The hummus is absolutely delicious and pairs well with the entire dish. Their baklava with ice cream is the perfect pair. I recommend this place to anyone!
