I’ve tried both chicken and beef doner sandwiches. Chicken was very dry and didn’t have a taste, I didn’t like it. The beef doner was ok except the tomatoes were almost frozen which made the sandwich tasting funny. I was expecting a tasty sandwich bread because they make it their own but it also had no taste. Staff were not attentive and place didn’t have any vibe, it was just dull.
On the other hand I had an amazing Turkish breakfast at their next door neighbor, I wish they also served doner.

Absolutely a must try! You will go back to it.
The food is full of flavor! Is kinder kabab has tomato base with buttered croutons… yum! The adanan kabab is another one of my favorites. The portions are great! This small business is absolutely well maintained. My go to place whenever am in PGH downtown.

Spent a weekend in Pittsburgh and this was a standout location. We stopped before Wicked and got an espresso and Baklava and it was so good, the owners and their kids were so charming we ended up going back after the show to eat dinner. The food is incredible. Everything is priced right. We couldn’t have enjoyed it more. Can’t wait to go back.

Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere and location is great, very close to the river and conference center. I’ve had döner across Europe and in the US.. this was a little bland. I suspect the recipe was good but cooks just had an off day because everything else about the restaurant says authenticity.

This is our favorite place to go to before seeing a show downtown. The family that owns Sultan’s is so kind and welcoming. The food is authentic and delicious. Best doner in town and the fresh bread it comes on is amazing. And don’t forget to treat yourself to their baklava!!

The positives:
The baklava was absolutely outstanding. We tried both varieties, and they were incredibly delicious. The tea was also good.
When you walk in, there is a fresh, clean smell — not the heavy, stale odor you sometimes find in small restaurants. The interior is beautiful, and very clean. The atmosphere overall was pleasant, but service seems like rude and unpleasant. Sorry – my personal opinion
The negative: The main issue — the meat:
We ordered a beef sandwich and a beef with rice dish. Everything looked fresh and nicely presented. The bread was delicious, the rice was good, and the vegetables were fresh.
However, the meat itself was very disappointing. The dish was labeled as beef, but it had a strong lamb fat aftertaste. I personally do not tolerate lamb, and the flavor was quite noticeable. Because of this, neither my children nor I were able to finish the meal. The meat did not taste like pure beef, which was unexpected.
Another issue was hygiene with the utensils. The forks we were initially given for the baklava were visibly dirty and dusty. We asked for disposable forks instead, but the plastic forks provided were also unwrapped and lying out in the open, and they appeared dusty as well. When customers request disposable utensils, they generally expect them to be individually wrapped for hygiene reasons

Amazing cuisine. I got the Doner sandwich with fries. The bread was soft and fresh, the lettuce and tomato clearly cut fresh for the sandwich, the meat was tender and juicy and full of flavor, and the tzatziki sauce was creamy and delicious. The fries were crispy and plentiful. I also got a serving of the walnut baklava and the pistachio baklava. Both very different versions of one of my favorite desserts and both wonderful. The owners were welcoming and warm, the store was clean and in a great location. My kids had the cheese pizza and we brought the rest home which I enjoyed that night. Even reheated in the air fryer, it was terrific. The sauce was fresh, the cheese melty and the crust was as delicious as the sandwich, clearly fresh every day. I will be returning as soon as possible!

Hubby and I stopped in for coffee and baklavas. Both were amazing. Yes, a bit pricy but I’d rather pay a bit more for fresh baklavas with a delish filling and real honey. Just the right amount for a sweet treat without feeling syrupy sweet. And thank you- not diluted with corn syrup. Excellent.

Really enjoyed this venture into some authentic Turkish cuisine. The establishment is family run and they treated everyone as a special guest. The lamb shanks were so tender and flavorful. My salad was fresh and delicious. They had many other great thing to choose from, I just wanted to break away from the usual gyro. The owner plans to continually improve his restaurants interior as they grow. The place shows lots of promise and the prices are fair.
