This was our first visit to the Columbiana Drive location. We’ve been to the Lexington location several times. The Columbiana location has a fantastic atmosphere! The food is equally good. Our cook didn’t put on much of a show, but he cooked well. We’ll definitely be back!

They opened Friday 12/5/2025. We had lunch here Sunday 12/7/2025 and it was great. Restaurant has been completely remodeled. Nice and clean and spacious. Service was excellent and the chef was perfect. Food was amazing. I had the steak and shrimp and it was cooked perfectly.

They certainly cleaned up the restaurant from how it looked when Yamatos was in that space. They do not accept reservations. They were also short staffed, which slowed the process down.
Our waiter had to start cooking at another table so we had to share a server with other tables.
They had 2 dressing options which were ranch and ginger. Both tasted like they came from the Chef Store.
The menu is the latest “canned” menu you find at all hibachi/bento box and sushi big box restaurants.
They skimped on the rice by offering noodles after the entire meal was cooked. Instead of using shrimp like other reputable hibachi restaurants they used wads of rice for people to catch in their mouths.
The flavor was standard. Nothing to write home about.
To open next to a reputable hibachi restaurant and offer such Meh food does not speak well to their credit.
Hopefully they will wake up and smell the competition before it is too late.

The best hibachi in town! Beautiful restaurant inside, great service and scrumptious food. So happy Sukiyaki is now on this side of town. The noodles tonight were seasoned the best I’ve ever had…. I am not a huge pasta lover but the noodles served here, seasoned with garlic, butter and soy sauce, are amazing. The portions were huge (I personally have at least two more meals from my leftovers). My only complaint is that I personally don’t care much for their ginger dressing. It’s the same one that they serve at the Lexington restaurant. I don’t go to a hibachi restaurant for the salad so I can easily overlook this (ranch dressing is the only other option). Overall, we had a great dinner and will definitely be back!

Go now. Given the cost to value and quality they’ll soon be booked solid. The sushi menu was excellent and prepared well. What struck me most was our chef Dex cooked the medium rare filet mignon to perfection. The skill to get a good crust with a cool red center was impressive. The shrimp, lobster, chicken & scallops were delicious, as were the vegetables, fried rice and udon noodles that come with the dinner. Our server Amy was very pleasant and helpful, as was her trainee Paige. We spent a bit – but we ordered a lot because I wanted to sample a lot before posting. This is on the return list for sure

The new Sukiya in Harbison is amazing! We were regulars at Sukiya in Lexington and have not enjoyed Miyabi the last few years since moving to Chapin. We were not disappointed from the moment we walked into the new Sukiya. Renovation is beautiful, everything is clean, staff are friendly, response time for everything was timely, and the food was delicious! I would especially like to call out Jack and Micro. They were some of the best servers I have ever had and will definitely ask for them in the future! I also always get scallops with hibachi and these were the best cooked scallops I have ever had when eating hibachi.
Great jobs to the owners and workers of Sukiya! Keep up the great work.

Great spot for a new take on hibachi! You get noodles in addition to the rice. They don’t give you shrimp like the normal hibachi places but the food was really good!
Very kid friendly, super clean, staff was super helpful and always coming to check on us!
No wait time, they take reservations. Give them a chance!

We absolutely love Sukiya on Harbison. Our 2nd time eating here in a week. Travis was our waiter both times. He is so funny and provides awesome service as well as making so great sweet tea!

We were excited abou the opening of another Hibachi restaurant in the area! Upon entering, the atmosphere was beautiful and spacious. There were two young ladies at the reception booth and they failed to evenvacknowledge us at the counter. After a few moments-we asked to be seated. She said that there would be a 20 min wait time. We had no issues with waiting and decided to sit at the bar in the meantime. The bartender never came over to ask if we wanted to look at a menu or order anything. There were only one other couple sitting at the bar. I would’ve definitely understood if she had multiple orders. We eventually called over to her and she took our orders and literally disappeared. She made one of our drinks and left again. By the time she made my drink it was not only poorly made, the glass was filled to the rim & spilled all over the counter and my clothes. She did apologize but I could tell that she was still learning how to make drinks. I didn’t want to give her a hard time so I just sent the drink back and we paid for the two that she made previously.
The food was not horrible but not wonderful. I’ve tasted better Hibachi in the mall. The sauces were bland in taste and the rice portions were disappointing. The waitstaff was friendly but our cook rushed through the cooking which was over powered with garlic. No tricks, no entertainment, no real interaction with guests. He just cooked the food & said, “Thank You & Good Night!”
Overall, beautiful atmosphere and nicely remodeled. But, if you’re going for the atmosphere and to be treated insignificantly….this would be the place for you! We spent almost $200 on poor customer service & mid food. Save yourself the trouble and eat at the other Hibachi spot a few restaurants down.
You’re Welcome!

I was greeted by the hostess she said it was okay for me to sit at the bar set at the bar for a good five six minutes I was never greeted by anyone the bartender continued to walk past me proceeded to interact with the other customers that were at the bar she never acknowledge me. As I exited I saw her up front doing something at the computer. I finally decided to leave since I was never greeted at all.
As a bartender myself and someone who’s been in hospitality for many years. This was definitely poor customer service.
