Wow wow Wasn’t on my 2026 bingo card to find some of the BEST sushi we’ve ever had in the world- in Columbia, SC!
In the middle of the Jan 2026 ice storm- they were open and even had our order ready to go so that we could pick up and head straight to the hotel!
Thanks to someone else’s review with a photo and caption- we ordered the Fuji roll (which was absolutely INCREDIBLE! Warm flavor bomb!), the Spider Maki and Crazy Maki.
100% LOVED it!
Thank you @ Suishaya for being open and for making delicious sushi rolls!!

I love visiting in the evenings! I sit at the bar and always make new friends. The owner and atmosphere are amazing. People love buying drinks for eachother. I love the amazing bartenders esp Ethan and Steve. A lot of laughs and stories!

The food is really good, and the portions are big. Ethan is a really nice person, and the waitress Naomi who took care of me was also very kind. To the owner, I would appreciate it if you could add Takoyaki to your appetizer menu

I come here often because the food and service is excellent. I typically order General Tso chicken with fried rice, beef teriyaki, beef egg rolls, wonton soup, egg drop soup, sesame chicken, and cosmo martini. The food is hot, good portions whether I’m dining in, doing pickup, or delivery. So happy this is close to home!

It’s really good quality food. They’re always friendly and attentive. Bartenders are great and the drinks are good. I dined in twice and did takeout once. I can trust that the food will be fresh and authentic! This will be my go to spot. I don’t have to question if I’m eating chicken or a different meat like other places.

Ordered take out, bourbon chicken and house fried rice. There were small amounts of meat, the shrimp weren’t cooked enough for me. The taste of the rice was good. The price was $21.50 for this order. I will order the vegetable fried rice the next time.

Really tasty food! I just wished I received more than 3 shrimp in my house fried rice. But I definitely recommend them! The food is always fresh and seasoned very well! Staff is always super nice and welcoming! Food isn’t greasy and prepared very well.

I recently dined at Suishaya Asian Restaurant, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food was outstanding; each sushi roll was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The attention to detail in every dish truly stood out.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for both intimate dinners and casual outings with friends. Although the restaurant is a bit smaller than I anticipated, the layout was well-designed, offering enough space to enjoy a meal without feeling cramped.
Service was excellent—attentive without being intrusive, and our server was knowledgeable about the menu. To top it off, I enjoyed a Strawberry Lemondrop Martini (celebrating my birthday), which was deliciously refreshing and complemented the meal perfectly.
Overall, Suishaya exceeded my expectations, and I can’t wait to return for another amazing sushi experience in Columbia, SC!

One thing I hate at a restaurant is when food takes a while and I have no idea what’s going on. This sure didn’t happen here. Our for took a little bit but our server came out multiple times to inform us it was a bit behind and to apologize and ensure drinks were filled. She was attentive and very polite. The food was great too. Really great sized portions for the price too. I got some sushi and it was really good along with the bourbon chicken and Mongolian beef we had. No kids menu which isn’t a bad thing but know your kid will have leftovers. Also, there is music. But you can hear the music and actually still hear your conversation which is perfect. 10/10 experience here. Highly recommend

The woman on the phone is always patient and sweet. I never get her name, but I always go in the afternoon, so I’m sure it’s the same person.
Food-wise, my husband and I both agree their coconut shrimp and orange chicken is amazing. Not a big fan of their rice in any form or their lo mein noodles. It’s just lackluster after eating the shrimp and chicken. Everyone has different taste bud but mine say go with the coconut shrimp and orange chicken.
