My girlfriend and I had dinner there last week. We’re still taking about it. We shared the fois gras and guava gel on rice crisp app, which was full of fun flavors. The modified New Orleans style shrimp in a Korean bulgogi type sauce (I think root beer was in it too!) and the thick cut pork chop with a side of mole-covered (substituting for cheese) broccoli were also split up. I’m more of an international diner than her and we were both impressed nicely. The melon granita was a great palette cleanser at the end. This place is worth it for the adventurous eater.
(We had an 8pm reservation and the weather was nice so we sat outside. We enjoyed the sidewalk theater thoroughly. And despite the restaurant being busy when we arrived the service was still lovely.)

I never leave reviews, but I’ve eaten here a few times and it never ceases to blow me away. From the kangaroo egg rolls (and the phenomenal dipping sauce) to the squash and grain patty with a yogurt sauce with beaucoup flavor, and a Trout skin that was charred so perfectly, this weekend’s meal was incredible.
I unfortunately had just gotten off a long flight and needed to take the food to go, but it held up perfectly and tasted so good once I got home.
I cannot wait to go back next week.

If you are looking for an all around unique, fresh & delicious chef’s dinner experince, this is truly not the place. Save your coins and go elsewhere! I wish my wife would have picked a different resturant for her birtday choice this year. We had a party of 6 here, for this $100 per person (liquor not included), chefs choice, 6 course dinner. Each course came out extremely small & flavorless… I mean, barely a sample of food in each course & so so very bland. To add, the service was extremely sub par, no one even explained what each course was when they brought it out. We had to ask multiple times, “what is this” when we had multiple people with food allergies in the group. AND, it took 30 – 45 minutes in between each course for them to bring out any food. 2.5 hours later, we were all disappointed & still very hungry. Needless to say, we will definitely not be returning. After complaining, the price was reduced to $50 per person which was still too much after what we endured. BUT, if you’re looking for a place to hangout, be ignored, & buy weak drinks from, this is definitely the spot for you!

This place was amazing, me and my man went here for date night and had a great time! The vibe was eccentric and I loved the decor! Our bartender Emily was the best and made the most delicious cocktails! I recommend this place to everyone, especially anyone looking for something different with fresh ingredients and an always changing menu!

Super fresh, super seasonal menu changing week to week. For locals a true blessing since so many restaurants in town have little impetus to change things since they rarely see there same customer twice in year. “When I was here five years ago you had this amazing blah blah blah why don’t you have that? I came back for that!”

This is an eclectic a little eatery in the Bywater district of New Orleans. We ended up here after the power went out for several blocks around our intended dinner spot. We were directed here by the locals from that restaurant and needless to say, we were pleasantly surprised! They offer several craft cocktails as well as a selection of bottled/canned beers. I had the Tiki Farm Basil Curry, which is a vegan green curry with tofu that was well prepared and delicious! There were a couple of other vegan and vegetation options on the menu as well. A friend ordered the Vasco de Gama Bouillabaisse and enjoyed it, but said he was not sure about the flavor combo, which was a lemon grass infused, Asian leaning concoction. My daughter had the Farmer’s Salad and the Heritage Berkshire Pork Chop accompanied by a Burmese-spiced coconut based sauce. Both were fresh and delicious. Our only complaint was that the menu was a bit scattered. Italian mezze, Thai curry, farmer’s salad, pork chop, Portuguese bouillabaisse, Asian fish cakes. I understand the whole fusion movement in dining, but not sure that they had it quite right. That said, I would definitely give this place another try. It seems that the menu changes and I would love to see what they come up with next.

I cannot recommend this place enough! My boyfriend and I have been many times and are always impressed with their shifting menu and creative choices! I had the best dirty gin martini here, and I love the calm and inviting atmosphere. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. It’s tucked away and feels like a secret gem. Can’t wait to go back again!

After visiting Suis Generis for the 3rd time, I have to leave it a 5 star review. The weekly changing menu is a fantastic idea and this restaurant always manages to deliver a delicious and experimental experience. I love visiting new orleans because of restaurants like this. The service is always kind, the drinks are great, and the atmosphere is completely laid back. Just fantastic!

Cozy atmosphere with a great and knowledgeable staff. The owners are good people who definitely put love into their food. Their menu changes but if there is a way for you to get the miso soup, DO IT!!! The chili-limeade with caçhaca was amazing. It was soo good, not only did we go for brunch but we ended up there for dinner as well. I look forward to going back!

My favourite Restaurant in town by far. The word to describe everything in there is Authentic. You must go and don’t be afraid of trying anything at the everyweek changing menu. I admire and respect the owner.
