Excellent fun pizza squares that captured imaginative flavor combinations with a delicious crispy crust.
Food/Drink- 5 stars
The pizza was excellent and we enjoyed every bite. I appreciated that they plated it in the order that it was best enjoyed
-Japanese- this was good, but probably my least favorite slice. The kewpie mayo overwhelmed the other flavors, but luckily kewpie mayo is always good
-Calebrese- this was my favorite slice. So balanced and flavorful
-Chorizo Pastor- this was the most fun slice. A bit on the spicier and heavier side
-Pera E Gorgonzola- thoroughly enjoyed this as the recommended last (dessert) pizza slice
Service- 5 stars
Service was fast and helpful. It’s out of their control, but their doorway is on top of the sewer line, so a bit of a stink when you walk in.

If you happen to be in Costa Mesa and craving a delicious pizza pie, definitely stop in. The pizza is thin crust and has that right amount of crunch. The various slices are very tasty to the point your salivary glands are bursting with flavor. A variety of tasty options are offered. The location is small, and both indoor and outdoor seating are offered. You can also call for takeout option. If you enjoy great customer service and delicious pizza, definitely stop in. Hands down the best pizza!! Love coming back to try new flavors. The lasagna pizza was incredibly delicious and so meaty! Definitely adding it to my list of favorites. We got the yo mama, calabrese, and uncle frank. Everything was fantastic, so flavorful and crispy!!

I had seen a few review videos for Sugo, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! The dough is easily one of the best I’ve ever had—light, flavorful, and perfectly baked. My personal favorite option was the pepperoni, which was outstanding. The service was just as impressive—our server was so kind and even surprised me with a Nutella dessert for my birthday, which made the experience extra special. While the seating is limited and it feels more like a takeout-style spot, the quality of the pizza makes it well worth a visit.

The pizza is there for you to order, you also don’t have to wait a long time for the pizza to be made fresh, about 5-10 min for them to cook.
Only downside is bit on pricey side.

I recently visited Sugo Pizza and tried four different slices — Japanese, Chorizo Pastor, Summer Pizza, and Contadina — and they were all absolutely delicious. I got the Calabrese and Summer. Yes. Thank you. Crunchy. Warm. Calabrese hit you right off and was the right amount, nice thin because it goes a long way. Tomatoes on my summer slice were juicy and flavorful and the cream in the burrata was of course, a winning combo. Add in the pesto and I 100% could taste the compliment. Everyone working there was friendly!
I’m only in town maybe three times a year for about a week at a time. This will be a return type of place. That’s saying a lot as Orange County has a LOT to offer.
