Pretty good little ice cream shop. It wasn’t hand-spun or anything crazy like that, but the flavor selection was acceptable, and I enjoyed the oatmeal cream pie ice cream. The lady working was nice to my little sister and gave her a couple samples. The best part is the view- sitting outside and enjoying the scenic view over the marsh. I’d recommend putting a trash can outside so people stop throwing trash in the sink. Otherwise, no complaints.

If you find yourself strolling along the town and craving a sweet escape, SugarTime Sweet Shop is your go-to destination for paying the typical overpriced beach tourist prices. This candy store, which doubles as a gift shop and beach novelty shop, is a treasure trove of sugary delights and whimsical souvenirs.

From classic candies to quirky beach-themed trinkets, there’s something for everyone. Just be aware that paying with a card incurs a 4% fee, sneakily labeled as a “tax” on your receipt, despite a notice at the register stating a 3.5% charge. Opting for cash can save you a few pennies and a bit of confusion.

Now, let’s talk about the bathroom. Imagine a tiny room that’s moonlighting as a storage closet. Inside, you’ll find a broom and mop that look like they’ve seen things—things that belong in horror movies. It seems like they’ve been standing guard for so long, they might just get up and clean the bathroom themselves out of sheer boredom. And boy, does it need it! The bathroom could definitely use a little TLC, or maybe an exorcist.

Despite the quirky bathroom situation, SugarTime is an ok spot to some time picking up sweets and treats.

This was a “must go to” place recommended by our friends. Truly disappointed. We got there around 11:30 am, most of the candy was empty and the cashier was on her phone the entire time we were in the store. When we checked out we discovered the cashier had zero personality, no thank you, no glad you came, nothing. This place is in a perfect spot to bring in alot of business if the staff was more helpful, friendly and had an ounce of charisma, not to mention if the amazing selection was I’m stock.

I was not impressed. Ice cream looked like it had been sitting there for a while. I ordered strawberry and cookies and cream. The strawberry one did not taste creamy like most Mayfield ice creams. It was more of a watery taste. Cookies and cream was yummy !

Came in from Charleston to visit and enjoyed this cute little candy shop. It’s a little pricey, but wasn’t the worst I’ve seen. Wide variety of Jelly Belly candies and other goodies. The girl working was nice and helped us pick a flavor. I decided on the delicious salted caramel froyo. Overall it was a great experience and I will be back. Thank you!

Enjoyed a quick stop in for ice cream. I was surprised by the size of the store. If you have a sweet tooth, definitely visit as they have more than enough candy and sweet treats to meet your needs. The young volleyball fan working during our stop was pleasant and professional.

Will visit again.

If you are looking for candy this is a great place to stop. If you are looking for yogurt or ice cream I will warn you to prepare to be disappointed. When we were there they did not have the yogurt machines going. This could be due to COVID, but they just had signs that said out of order. The hand dipped ice cream was also a little sad. They were out of several flavors and some just looked old and freezer burned. It’s hard for me to spend $3.99 for a scoop of hand dipped ice cream when I can buy a whole carton of ice cream at the store for the same price. Customer service was very lacking. The girls serving ice cream acted annoyed and put out that we even wanted to get ice cream. Overall the place just seemed a little sad and run down. They have windows overlooking the marsh, but many of them were clouded up and dirty looking. I would just recommend going to the food lion across the street for ice cream.

I took my grandchildren for candy. I was APPALLED by the inappropriate comments on coasters they were selling. In a place where children shop, you would think adults would be more responsible!
