Helpful staff willing and patiently answering all questions, the food was delicious. Purchased catfish meal with greens and cornbread for the sides. A friend had the fried okra and said it’s the best ever eaten. If ever in this area again, Sugar’s is a repeat, I’ve since recommended it to a friend.

Stopped in based off a friends recommendation. I was glad I did! Perfectly fired catfish, good sides and good prices. Not much room to eat inside and a few tables outside. There is street parking but no specific spots.

I love Sugars, been eating there for over 8yrs. The food is seasoned just right. I love their breakfast, especially their Cheese grits, I’ve never eaten cheese grits alot until I tasted theirs. My favorite dishes are their Chicken and waffles, and their fish platter, it’s always seasoned and fried the same everytime. The customer service is very down to earth, they really pay attention to their customers especially the regulars, they know you by name and treat you like family. Sugars is one of my favorite eatery spots downtown, so if you’re ever in the area and you need a place to go for a quick bite with a little bit of Soulfood, stop by Sugars, they will get you right.

Put in my order 10 minutes out for some chicken and waffles. When I got there my order was hot and ready! Chicken was nice and crispy, fried perfectly, not one dry wing. Batter was golden brown, it was almost too pretty to eat. Chicken didn’t have way too much seasoning, which paired really well with the waffle. The syrup wasn’t overly sweet, the balance in flavors were great, not one thing was fighting for the spotlight, they all wanted to be in the group play together haha. I like my waffles a little bit more crispy on the outside, I’ll request that next time. Now, that breakfast biscuit took my breath away, she’s a sexy little thing…
