This is an easy 5/5 establishment. Outstanding sushi for a very reasonable price. There is no better value in Los Angeles. Anyone who rates this less than 5 star is not to be trusted! Prompt service, and tip is included which is nice. Very cozy atmosphere.

An excellent overall experience. Fairly priced. Good quality fish. Prepared simply. The sushi rice was a bit too quick to fall apart, making eating sushi pieces a bit hard. Remember to flip the piece fish side down to avoid losing the rice! Decor is good but a little dated and.. Well… Boring. No place that serves as focal point.

If you can’t decide what kind of sushi you want, come to Sugarfish because their menu is straightforward. You can select from their Prix Fix menu: Trust Me, The Nozawa Trust Me, Trust Me Lite or Don’t Think, just Eat, Trust Me.

I got the Trust Me delivered. The fish portions are generous and very fresh.

The food here is excellent. The menu is very limited, you simply order “trust me” and you get whatever the shift thinks is really good for the day. The servers are very polite and attentive, but the service is somewhat mediocre, as most of the times we’ve been there, we all order the same thing, but each of our food comes out sometimes as much as 5 minutes apart over the multiple courses in the package. The interior of the restaurant is quite loud, but otherwise nice enough. They do have outdoor seating as well, which we enjoy as it is much easier to talk outside than in the restaurant.

Wouldn’t say this is the best sushi I’ve ever had. The quality went down a bit from what I remember when I ate this in the past. It’s fine if you’re just craving sushi. For the value, probably won’t get again.

Great food. Probably some of the best selection of sushi . I honestly didn’t know sushi could be so different in taste until eating there. The seating was crowded and it is somewhat pricey. The ratio of fish to rice is bigger piece to smaller rice sample.

We had a great dinner experience here. It’s a small intimate setting – just one room with tables tightly packed around the perimeter. We arrived at 6 pm on a Monday night and got a seat quickly but in the next 15 minutes, every table was full. For a Japanese restaurant, it’s almost like fast food. If you order the omakase (which is Japanese for basically “chef’s choice), which the entire menu is really pointing you to order, then the dishes come out sequentially and quickly. Every single item was done with extreme precision and care. This is high end Japanese like you would get in Japan. Nothing was out of place. The rice (sushi) is perfect flavored and not tightly packed or overwhelming the fish like you get in a lot of fake Japanese restaurants. Definitely an amazing deal for the $40 or $50 you pay per person. Oh, no tipping here but they do tack on 16% to the final bill.

Their standard tasting menu was quite good, with high quality of nori and fresh fish. If they offered more options of the fish would be awesome.

To be honest, I wasn’t a fan of Sugarfish prior to today. All of my friends who had tried Sugarfish told me that it was either great or way too overhyped and overpriced, and because of that, I had avoided visiting any of their locations. However, my girlfriend and I decided to go for her birthday and we were very impressed by all of the food.
