The warm rice makes this sushi stand out. I love how the menu is designed so you get all of the best items. The hand rolls are absolutely fabulous. The vibe inside the restaurant is pretty chill.

This is an easy 5/5 establishment. Outstanding sushi for a very reasonable price. There is no better value in Los Angeles. Anyone who rates this less than 5 star is not to be trusted! Prompt service, and tip is included which is nice. Very cozy atmosphere.

Trendy local sushi outlet that caters to an omakase style / uniquely branded TrustMe sets.
We had these recommended sets last June 2024 and were surprised by many of the innovative twists to the diahes from their slightly warm sushi rice and the special type of rice used.
The service was up to standard and prompt
The place is much like other sushi bars which is often tight and limited in seating
Expect queues during peak times and dining is at a first come first served basis.
Best for quick eats and small groups.

Got here around 515 on a weekend to beat the dinner rush or it can get quite crowded. Validated parking lot right in front very convenient. Indoor and covered patio seating. The service was friendly and excellent, and they bussed dishes quickly inbetween courses. I would definitely recommend one of the tasting course options, very reasonable price for top quality sushi. Nice list of wine and sake for pairing. They will only seat you if your whole party is present. Would definitely come back here again.

Make sure to check your togo order before you leave the store! Seems like they have bad quality control as we ordered three “To-go Trust Me” and one was missing the tuna sashimi.

If you can’t decide what kind of sushi you want, come to Sugarfish because their menu is straightforward. You can select from their Prix Fix menu: Trust Me, The Nozawa Trust Me, Trust Me Lite or Don’t Think, just Eat, Trust Me.
It was lunch time. The parking lot was packed and the restaurant LOUD and crowded at 1pm.
It was difficult to have a conversation across the table. This is why I’m giving only 4 stars.
Sushi and food: 5 star and beyond! Melt in your mouth sushi.
If you do park in the lot, first 90 minutes are free with validation. There is a back parking too.
We left around 2pm and there were plenty of tables and it was not as noisy loud. So if you arrive off hours, I would recommend it.
Lunch is served until 3:30pm, then it’s Dinner service.

Our party of three was pleasantly impressed not only by the freshness and tastiness of the food but also with the unusually polite & efficient service. The restaurant was full, so we had to settle for an outside seat which was good enough.
Surprise, Surprise! It is a “No Tip” establishment.

We had a great dinner experience here. It’s a small intimate setting – just one room with tables tightly packed around the perimeter. We arrived at 6 pm on a Monday night and got a seat quickly but in the next 15 minutes, every table was full. For a Japanese restaurant, it’s almost like fast food. If you order the omakase (which is Japanese for basically “chef’s choice), which the entire menu is really pointing you to order, then the dishes come out sequentially and quickly. Every single item was done with extreme precision and care. This is high end Japanese like you would get in Japan. Nothing was out of place. The rice (sushi) is perfect flavored and not tightly packed or overwhelming the fish like you get in a lot of fake Japanese restaurants. Definitely an amazing deal for the $40 or $50 you pay per person. Oh, no tipping here but they do tack on 16% to the final bill.

I love the caliber of sushi that sugarfish delivers. Their standard tasting menu was quite good, although the upgraded version didn’t provide that much of an extra edge. I must say, the subtle hostility in the menu was both off-putting and quirky (rules against asking for more sauce???) but overall a great experience.
