If your up for something a little different but comfortable, you should check out Sugar. The wood-fire ovens bring a unique flavor to their high quality ingredients. Fun and energetic environment with a couple of separate rooms to choose from. Plan on fast-food style ordering at the counter inside the door, get your drinks, then find some seats. Tables, utensils, and bathrooms were clean with little to no soap residue on anything. Good music and ambience while you wait. Wife had a large portion of smoked meatloaf (sausage/beef blend with spicy ketchup) and I had the spaghetti squash with couscous (a very rare find on any menu in town). Cooked to perfection and full of flavor, both were enjoyable and makes us want to come back to try other dishes. Cooking of this quality deserves to be paired with a quality craft beer, but unfortunately all that was offered is Industry Brewing. Rhodells and 8-bit are right there so it’s a shame they couldn’t piggyback on their offerings. There was a fun looking patio area out front and a side party room too. We’ll definitely be back.

We love the wood fired pizzas. My husband easily split the jalapeño popper pizza. It was excellent. The freshness of all the ingredients was incredible. We will be back!

We came here for a private party in the back room and not only was the staff great, but the food was incredible and the environment was perfect for our event.

The hummus was really delicious. I loved the little flatbread pieces. I also got the balsamic chicken over roasted vegetables and would absolutely order it again. It was so flavorful and perfectly cooked.

I don’t live in town but would visit again, if ever in the area.

A lot of attention to detail! Very nice looking restaurant inside and OUT. We dined on patio and we all enjoyed our meals except for our 4 y/o daughter. She didn’t like the Mac n cheese and they gave her a cheese pizza instead…and she loved it.
I had a supreme pizza. Wife and friend ate salmon salads and her husband had blt salmon sandwich.
Can’t say enough!

‘Sunday Sidewor (Hefeweizen)’ and ‘I know the Owner’ were our go-to beers. The food was amazing; the salmon entree with couscous is highly recommended, and the Jalapeño Popper pizza was off the scales! It had super fresh herbs and veggies, and the Mexican cheese was a perfect touch. The cotyon candy cheesecake doesn’t taste like overly-sweet cotton candy; it tastes like pink Starburst cheesecake.

First time here. This is a cute, unique place. When you walk in, you order at the counter. I ordered a supreme pizza.
(They had desserts in a case that looked so good.). They will seat you and bring your food to the table. The pizza was delicious. Definitely check this place out.

We had our rehearsal dinner in the party room of Sugar. Even though we had 25 people, they were exceptionally accommodating and never once seemed irritated with our group. We’re so thankful this is where we chose.

One of our absolute favorites in the USA.
We drove and extra 10 miles to come back here and, yes, it really is that good. BBQ chicken pizza and fire roasted vegetables.
Service is great, atmosphere is great and , of course, the food is awesome.
Once again, highly recommended two thumbs-up

We don’t search out pizza very often but Sugar’s has become a must when in Peoria IL. Fantastic thin crust pizza in a wood fired brick oven in cozy surroundings. Would love to try the other menu items but it’s hard not to get pizza. Service is fast and friendly. Diane had the BBQ chicken and I had the four meat. All fresh ingredients and well portioned. Very reasonably priced. This is a winner! Back again 10.26.18 and still loving it. Back again 10.30.18. Back again at Sugars. Very rare we get to enjoy a travel stop again so soon but we’re not complaining. Diane had her usual (BBQ chicken) but I had to try the meatloaf with roasted zucchini and Mac&cheese. All options enjoyed immensely. Mac & cheese may have to be my next meal. Really good. Once again, great stop on the journey to wherever. Recommended! Tell ‘en SNDTravels sent ya.

Really cute place!! My mac and cheese was great. We were here on a fairly busy night, and the wait for the meatloaf was quite long (45 minutes) compared the rest of the food items. The staff was working hard and they were kind and apologetic – and we got a free piece of a carrot cake because of the wait, at least!

My wife and I had an amazing quiet meal. Both the Hawaiian pizza and the meatloaf. I would have to say the meatloaf was out of this world. So many time it’s dry and bland. Not this one. Moist and full of flavor. The stuffed crust really made this pizza delicious. I would definitely eat there again.
