We ❤️ Sugar and Rye very much. We dined there during Mardi Gras twice and came back this past weekend with our friends…twice. We were looking forward to ordering that delicious Ribeye steak again but we came during Brunch so sadly no steak. Then came back the next day during Brunch again…can’t get enough. Our friends loved it, too. My favorite is the crispy flounder with the corn maque choux and jalapeño grits and Ribeye.
The atmosphere is cozy, warm and chic with the amazing waiter, Hunter who did an amazing job. Also, Sissy the great Hostess. Actually, we love everyone there. Great job, Sugar and Rye on everything.

First time visitor. The food was so good. Worth the trip all the way to Galveston. The decor and atmosphere is amazing in there. I had the avocado toast and my husband had the shrimp & grits. Both were delicious. I would recommend the sucre drink. Landon was our waiter and provided excellent service.

Sugar & Rye was amazing! Our server, Dimitri, took amazing care of us. We were a large group and everyone was taken care of. The service was so great and the food was amazing. We had the fried green tomatoes & corn bread as appetizers which were delicious. I had the filet mignon & Mac and cheese and it was so good. My steak was cooked perfectly and the flavors were amazing. Next time I’m in Galveston I want to come back for brunch! If you’re in town, definitely plan to eat here.

Omg! I can not say ENOUGH about this establishment!! We reserved a very large table for my SIL (sister-in-law) Birthday + some! So accommodating and gracious because I know we were ALOT… Kyrie(please forgive me if I misspelled your name) and Sissy were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING HOSTS!! The food and cocktails were Great not one guest had any problems… Large group and SO many people, the service was EXCEPTIONAL! THANK YOU! 20+ served in this group and not 1 complaint. Sugar & Rye was AMAZING!

The biscuits and gravy were amazing—comfort food done right. The S&R burger was messy in the best way and absolutely delicious. Shoutout to Johnathan, our waiter, who was fantastic—funny, sweet, and made the whole experience even better. Would definitely come back!

Dimitri was phenomenal and took care of our 15 person group with such ease! He made it look easy, didn’t make us wait, and accommodated us so well. He was kind, polite, and efficient in taking our orders, making sure we had drinks and kept our girl group hydrated *wink wink*! He recommended the Jenny’s Loaded Chocolate Milk for a dessert drink and it was PHENOMENAL. The perfect mixture of the best chocolate milk flavor plus has the best vodka bite. The Red Snapper was also so great! So tender and the flavorful. If you are a fish fanatic like me, red snapper is a hard fish to cook and they did so amazing with it! AND the bignets!? SO FLUFFY and the raspberry compote was delicious! Truly recommend coming back for dinner time. Such a cozy and romantic atmosphere for a date night or the best girls night! Ask for Dimitri!

Amazing fried green tomatoes! Staff super friendly. Slower paced restaurant which was fine for us because we had time to kill before our next adventure. The SR burger is definitely one to eat with a fork.

Everything about our experience was excellent! The food was delicious, atmosphere was quaint and elevated, but what stood out mostly was the service. Jonathan, our server was friendly, helpful, Very knowledgeable about the menu and spent quite a bit of time with us. He also made a point to address and banter with our 12-year-old daughter which is rare but truly appreciated.
Cara, The front hostess, also came and chatted with us. Super friendly And it seemed like everyone working at this restaurant (including her daughter) loved and appreciated her. She even went as far as to offer her glasses to my wife so she could read the menu… Lol.
All in all, this will definitely be a regular destination for us whenever we visit Galveston.

Really cute Inn restaurant with great food. The saltine crackers and pimento cheese was a great start. The coconut shrimp was really good, my burger was great (loved the pretzel bun), and my girlfriend said the red snapper was really good.
Looking forward to going back for other mains and the amazing sounding desserts.
