Finally a restaurant in Cincinnati that doesn’t hide flavor. Everything about eating here is dialed up, the atmosphere, the friendly staff, the colorful locals, and especially the flavors. The smoked sausage is the best smoked meat you’ll taste this side of a BBQ joint in Dallas. The Goetta (pronounced “Get-uh”) is special and historic. Oh, and the special recipe pancakes that haven’t changed since 1941 are so unique you’ll be asking about them. If you want to feel like you’re eating breakfast in Cincinnati, you should stop by, grab a seat and dig in! Oh, wait, did I mention the pricing is from the 1990’s? Yeah. It’s super easy on your wallet, or money clip, or purse or whatever you carry your money in.

This place has been on my list for a while now!! Thank God I finally went bc it changed my life the cinnamon roll french toast melted away as I chewed and reminded me of getting cinnamon sugar toast as a kid in school at breakfast. The vibe was high and relaxing at the same time. So many hungry people, yet the staff handled it so well you didn’t feel like there were too many people around you. They have tables, booths, and a bar. They have Spiked OJ too which I didn’t try this time. So original!

Truthfully, I haven’t been here since my dad passed in 2006. It was one of his favorite places to go to. We had breakfast, I had to include goetta. Ashley served us fast and hot.
I left her a Valentine decorated duck plus a tip. Don’t ever forget to tip. I asked her to pick out a duck for me. I got a taco duck!

I had a really disturbing experience at Sugar & Spice Diner. I ordered a veggie omelet and found a staple inside it. I almost swallowed it thank God I noticed in time and was able to spit it out. This is a serious safety issue and completely unacceptable.
Since the remodel, the service has gone downhill, especially coming from the kitchen. The food quality is bad and the customer service is worse. This is disappointing because this was a place I visited frequently as a kid growing up in Avondale. Sadly, it’s nothing like it used to be. They’ve lost my trust and will never get my business again.

This is the original sugar and spice. It was excellent. I enjoyed my breakfast. Smoked sausage, eggs over easy, and pancakes. Delicious! It was crowded. We had to wait. The good things come to those who wait.

Absolutely fell in love with another diner! I had the avocado burrito and let me just say it was amazing. They even served it with homemade salsa and sour cream. Highly recommend you also get a duck after your meal. We got a couple

The best part of my meal was the coffee Which was served good and hot with an excellent selection of creamer mind you. The eggs and goetta were great too but….Your biscuits and gravy needs some work. It was completely bland and tasted like wall paste, And for $12 I’m glad I asked them to remove it from my bill. I also had a side of corned beef hash, which I could tell was out of a can but tasted fine, for five dollars I wish it would’ve been fresh corned beef, with shredded potatoes and onions. Still searching for a restaurant that does corned beef hash the right way, but I don’t know if I’ll ever find it. Overall, the experience was decent, but the food wasn’t all that great however I am very optimistic and open-minded and I may come back one day for lunch, but it just won’t be today lol

When you walk in, don’t just sit at the bar. You’ll find out quick if you don’t. Service is slow waited over 20 minutes so far as I’m writing this. Staff didn’t smile much or make you gerl welcomed. We felt more like a burden. The toy ducks were entertaining for 5mins.
Cornbeef hash was great, however the serving size was half the thickness of an English muffin & about the same diameter. Over easy eggs had the slime.

Came in the morning before our long drive back to Texas. The Sunday after thanksgiving would have been an understandable day for service to be slow, or attitudes to be down, but not here. Our server Ashley had a smile the entire time we saw her. There was a decent wait for a Sunday at lunch time, but that’s to be expected. The manager was running around putting out every fire and was a rockstar. He never lost his smile, even when he was being spoken down to by someone less understanding of the wait. He made sure he had his team’s back and bussed tables and took orders when everyone was busy.
Ashley was a joy to have as our waitress too. She made sure all of us who were in for the first time got a duck and was very attentive to the details of our orders. The kitchen staff was near our table and they were all so kind with each other and made us laugh more than once. Overall we loved this spot and see why it’s so highly recommended. The food was classic diner fare but it was done so well. No one left hungry, and everyone left talking about how glad we were to have taken the time.

We got the meatlovers plate, the breakfast burrito, the pancakes, chicken and waffles, biscuits and gravy, and a Greek omelet with gyro added. Everything was delicious and hearty, which is exactly what we needed after a long week and before a very long drive home.
We are looking forward to the next time we visit and get to stop in.

Crazy disgusting i had a Ruben it was soo hard like dog jerky and all of the drinks were flat or nasty sweet tea taste like cigarettes they tried to over charge me for a side salad and make sure yu take your receipt the sweet old lady at the front seemed nice and asked that I need my receipt. I think she wrote in a tip on there because the charge on my credit card was much higher than the actual check. Makes me wonder if they do this to a lot of people. But the waitress was nice.
