My husband and I have been to Sugar Mamas’ multiple times over the years they’ve been in business at the Apple Shed. Several times I’ve wanted to write an honest review, but haven’t because I want to support our local businesses.
This morning I stopped by to pick up two pastries, a Nutella croissant and a Blueberry turnover. The chocolate was bone dry (see picture). Hardly any Nutella to be seen and it cost over $4. This isn’t the first time one of their Nutella or chocolate pastries has been like this, but every 6-12 months I try them again because they’re my favorite. The blueberry turnover was soggy and not very good, but at least it had filling. It’s so disappointing because we got some pastries from here on Mothers Day and they were delicious, so I know they can make good pastries. I also don’t love that they charge full price for dry, two day old products. Give a little discount if they’re not fresh.
Anyway, this is my honest review from a long time customer. I hope some improvements can be made because I want to keep coming here.

The blueberry danish at Sugar Mamas’ Bakeshop was unreal. It was served warm, which made it even better. The shop owner was kind and attentive. We also picked up a freshly baked loaf of sourdough bread. Well worth the hour drive.

Cute little shop, but the sandwiches are not worth the price. 4 sandwiches and chips for $58.00 and there was hardly anything on them and the size made me laugh. I did want to say that the Mac & Cheese and Coleslaw as sides are really good. Thank you for offering a gift certificate that what be wonderful. Your breads and pastries do look very yummy.

My husband and I have been in a few times with no issues. My husband goes in occasionally when passing through because we live in Montrose. We’ll today My husband stopped in to get some bread. And he said HELLO instead of ringing the bell that he didn’t see.
The lady proceeded to scold him for yelling and not using the “bell”. My husband needles to say just walked out. He/we will not be returning. Hopefully they learn to treat their customers with kindness and respect.
This was around 3pm on Saturday September 13th.

My heart sank this morning. I stopped in before work, not in a rush, but my order still took about 15 minutes—which would have been fine if not for watching another customer who ordered after me get his food and drink first.
I ordered a breakfast (~$10) and added a chai latte that brought my total to $16. For that price, I expected something crafted in-house or at least a higher-quality drink. Instead, I was handed a 3/4 full cup of pre-made TAZO chai. Since they didn’t have ice, the drink felt… almost empty.
I don’t mind paying $6+ for a latte when it’s worth it, but this was sad. Maybe just stick to baked goods…

If you haven’t been to Sugar Mama’s Bakeshop in Cedaredge, you’re seriously missing out! Their burritos are hands-down the best in town—fresh, flavorful, and the perfect way to start the day. And don’t even get me started on the cinnamon rolls… soft, gooey, and absolutely delicious!
The staff is always friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. You can tell everything is made with love and high-quality ingredients. Whether you’re craving a quick breakfast, a sweet treat, or just a great cup of coffee, this place never disappoints.

Nestled in the Apple Shed complex is a bakery and cafe that is definitely a cut above the rest: Sugar Mamas’ Bakeshop and Cafe. Two words describe the baked goods and food: absolutely scrumptious! Whether indulging in a Toffee/Pecan Scone (a piece of Heaven) or cutting into a loaf of Cranberry/Walnut Bread (this is DELICIOUS!!!), Sugar Mamas’ never disappoints the palate! If you haven’t discovered Tanquerae’s magic, it’s high time you did! Did we mention that the chocolate cookies literally melt in your mouth? Everything is five stars: the Everything Bagel, the wonderful cupcakes, the always tempting crossiants — all are first-rate! And the service is the gold standard! And don’t forget to try the assortment of exquisite and hearty sourdough breads! If you’re passing through Cedaredge or are lucky enough to be a resident, take a break and head over to Sugar Mamas’ Bakeshop and Cafe.

I sadly didn’t get to try any of their food but couldn’t help but start off my review recommending you get some while here. Everything looked amazing and the seating was everything you could want in a mountain swaddled brunch. The coffee was perfect but walking around the gallery and extending shops like the floral design studio was just so cool. Couldn’t recommend this whole establishment enough. Will be back again
